Does ne1 know where I can find this? I"d like to see it as
Chris' videos are quite interesting, and I hear RDJ did the
sound for it...

ah pretty cool .. a bit different from the usual cunningham
bizzo ... love this tho:

When asked about flex, Chris remarks:
"It was a slight detour and an experiment to me. It
is a short film where i wanted to try and get my interest in
anatomy and figurative drawings out of my system.
It was intended to be completely abstract but it
didn't quite work out that way and although it feels like
its trying to say something, it isn't."

In contrast, the flex write-up from Royal Academy's
Apocalypse booklet:
"flex is a deliberately aggressive piece of
film-making.  Cunningham's aim is to attack the senses with
a physical intensity using film and music.  The soundtrack
for flex was composed by Richard James of Aphex Twin.
flex's inspiration comes partly from the superhero cartoon
imagery, particulary the idealised bodies with their surreal
muscles.  The film shows Cunningham's varied interests in
animation, in Renaissance drawings - particularly those of
Michelangelo - and in the symbolism of the Pre-Raphaelites."

I saw it when it was at the Royal Academy's Apocalypse
exhibition. Its pretty disturbing. I liked it though. The
soundtrack is quite weird but works very well, it has lots
of distorted screams and starnge noises.

Im lookin forward to that dvd.

it's a 3 part series... Bjork does music for one of em, if I
remember correctly..... it's monkey drummer, flex, and all
is full of love (bjork) anywho Chris Cunningham is a GOD of
a director..... expecially with Aphex Twin... tho I'd like
to see RDJ do a bit of directing, himself... just to see
what he'd come up with

Never heard that before. I thought Flex was commisioned for
the Apocalypse exhibition. All is Full of Love is just a
music video. Dont see the connection.

wouldn't know about the exibit, personally.... apparently I
was wrong, but I do know it was a 3 part series..... thought
that was one of the parts... LOL I'll check my facts...
don't want to help rumors spread.....

Haha! Yeah, could be part of a series with Monkey Drummer i
guess, doubt All is Full of Love is though. Flex is more of
an "art" piece, if you know what i mean?
