I watched a program on Sir Oswald Mosely last night. Interestingly, he believed that a fascistic regime should be elected through the normal channels (ie, voted in in a democratic manner) and then hold power. Whilst I am deeply opposed to his anti-sematism, his understanding that nothing would significantly change under a two party "democracy" and his acceptance of the need for more drastic measures was admirable.
i_x_ten: Yep, I agree, true democracy is impossible. Unless you're prepared to take a party line (which to me, doesn't seem democratic at all) everyone would have to spend all day every day debating every issue and no one would ever actually get anything done.

It's obvious that I'm living in a totalitarist country.
Heh, the president was elected with an 82% majority, after all.

"no one would ever actually get anything done"
hmm, sounds like trying to organise a group of friends on a night out, everyone fannys about, and nothing happens for ages, cos everyone's trying to be democratic and listen to everones opinions about what to do and i get quite pissed off with it. its a nice ideaology, but never seems to work..

Yep, that's a perfect example! I've just come back from a trip away up in Scotland with some friends. Initally it was just liked you described- a lot of stnading about talking and not much "doing". Towards the end of the week, we found the best way to plan our activites was just to list what we each wanted to do, and then arrange our personal itinaries so that if two or more wanted to do the same activity it fell in the same time slot. There were still a few "tantrums" when one individual wanted to do something that screwed up other things for the group, mind...
Jonesy: Sadly, I think you may be right.

Then the tantrum-throwing individual should have been shot for being a counter-revolutionary.

How did you find Glasgow? Was there two weeks ago and had some drunken Protestant bigot singing anti-Catholic unionist songs in my ear.

Only spent one day there... We got a parking ticket as our parking voucher had run out by 1/2 an hour (the guy who had the car keys had got lost and couldn't find his way back). I love traffic Wardens...
Went to see the Foo fighters and Chilli Peppers at a day festival there which was quite good.
Saw the Charles Rennie Mackintosh art school too and had a guided tour there, very interesting. There was an excellent fast food place there called A&M which I'd never seen before, but seemed to be part of a chain. So much nicer than Mcdonalds, it had a free jukebox and the food was excellent.
One thing my brother (who was born in Scotland and has spent a lot of time there says) always says to me, you think you've seen sectarian violence in ireland, that's fuck all... go up to scotland for a celtic match.

They don't have loyalist paramilitaries in Scotland though; even at the footie matches.

democrazy is just crazy. I want to decide over my life, I want 100% independence/freedom.
Anyone claiming just because they are a group of people [= more than just one (me)] they therefor can decide over my life ---> Fuck them!
I hope some day more people will understand they are entitled to 100% full power of their lives...
but most people don't realize anything, and just live like they are told. Sheep.
