I will poo on you and then you will be famous as "the person
who w M w pood on."

Poo looks funnier without the e in past tense (when used as
a verb).

it's just an observation any one of us could make if we were
being completely honest. you could be a huge fan of his
music and still see his constant advertising..

my experience was i thought he was as popular/liked as
ovuca, bogdan, and some other "B" level electronica artists
(many on rephlex) but i changed my mind after seeing him on
message boards and looking at his site

advertising is, historically speaking an excellent way to
gain exposure.

Perhaps the real reason for your hostility is jealosy of his
fame? Fame is pointless, evil even if you are
philosophically against the entire human memetic and genetic
co-evolution like I am. Nevermind, I am eating a burrito and
wearing pants. I'm looking at an old black and white photo
of mutant death pengwin's mom eating a cookie. It is making
me sad.

Right now, you just "advertised" the opinion that
advertising can be unwanted and annoying. You're not selling
anything monetarily but trying to spread this meme more than
it's competing rivals perhaps. Nevermind, I just recieved
the results from a universe-wide poll. It is a unanimous
opinion that advertising can be unwanted and annoying
according to every creature in existence at the present
(except for the Gycloids in the opposite sector, but since
they disagreed they oppositely meant to agree)... therefore
let this be the first opinion in history to officially
become a fact. Man I need to eat some urinal mints.

the whole of the world is just an elaborate mating dance

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2003-08-31 17:43 [#00844085]
Points: 21452 Status: Lurker

Back to the original topic, you said global goon is
righteous. This means "morally upright". I assume that by
"global goon", you are referring to the person rather than
the music, for it seems awkward apply the characteristic of
morality to music itself, even if it's created by a
controversially moral/immoral person like maralyn manson.

Morality can be thought of as maximizing pleasure and
minimizing pain to earth's creatures. So what has global
goon done that has something to do with this?

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2003-08-31 17:45 [#00844086]
Points: 21452 Status: Lurker

It's an elaborate replicating dance rather, for us that are
"living". This includes creatures like starfish who do not
mate.
The non-living matter lives my kind of life though. That's
the life for me.

you can cut off a starfish's knob and it will grow a whole
new starfish. the new starfish will be genetically
identical but it will have the original knob. and the old
starfish will grow a knew knob, historically speaking.

That seems like a much nicer way to replicate. You'd never
have to fear pain of being cut. Hell, you might as well
purposely slide down a cheese grater. Maybe it would feel
pleasureful like an orgasm that urges you to replicate.
Maybe fire would still hurt you. This was the case with such
a creature in the "inhumanoids" cartoon and action figure
called "tendril".

well, first of all the philosophical discussion of the word
"righteous" wasn't necessary because, indeed, i was using it
as an 80's term for good. i was also refering to Global
Goon, not as a person, but as the person represented by his
music. Sorry to confuse the truely philosophically adept

for the millionth time... global goon is a guy supporting
and promoting his music through the avenues available. he
probably doesnt take his 'net life as seriously as SOME of
you, and therefore doesnt chat it up much. good for him. i
see no reason to slag the guy. he is trying to make his
music happen. it obviously got him where he is now... good
for him. if you wanna make you dreams happen, you gotta give
all your time and efforts to them.

enough cutting this guy down... this is like the tenth topic
i've seen where it ends up being "j-hok is a heartless
self-promoter". and its usually fueled by the same
person(s).

this is like every single thread now... i say black, so
someone else inevitably has to say white. someone gives him
props, so someone has to come along and tear him down. im
not down with that.
