If you have Win 98 and run 'msconfig' therre is a box in
therre to tick to make yourr computerr starrt up in Normal
mode. I don't have it anyone morre but someone I knows
computerr starrts up in what 'looks' like safe made. I know
therre is something to tick to change it back to norrmal,
but coz I don't have Win 98 now, I can't check.

I was wonderring if someone could tell me what tab it is
underr and what the tic box is called.

....and you are positive that is is not 'normal' mode, and
that the graphics adapter isn't just incorrectly configured?

I figurre my mate has Diagnostic Startup ticked. But I can't
speak to him to ask. I need to tell him just wherre to go in

the box again for you

i can't be sure i've ever used msconfig. but if there's
nothing wrong with your computer, then why change anything?
or is there?

Not with mine. It's my dads frriends. He told me
'everrything is big'. I'm just trrying to list prroblems it
might be and how he can sorrt it. Only I have XP now so it's
kind of awkwarrd.

When you go to Run... and type msconfig into the box the
program starts up. If they haven't got Run... on the Start
menu they just need to hold down the windows key and press
r.

The first tab (General) has the options you are talking
about. Incidently you can do this on XP as well using the
same procedure.

Thanks.
Yeah I have done it on XP herre but I thought that the
layout may have been differrent.
