so, i got a question for the ones who use fl. when i make a song, and i have a long sample, how do you put it into your song?
i mean i try it in two ways: - i put it into the fruity slicer, but if i have a sample like for example a vocal or string part, it sounds really choppy.
- i change the pitch, trying to change the length of the sample. but this way is not accurate enough.
so, how do you do it? do you use any sampler or something?
thanks for your help !

if it's choppy it sounds like your soundcard is poo, or in the options you need to check "use hardware buffer"

Maybe it's choppy because he put it in the slicer.

I was just thinking that.
I don't really get what you mean sadist, put it into a song...? It sounds like you know how...

just import it into the folder with all of the other samples, drag the sound onto one of the sample sequence things, add the first box on the sequencer for that sample, and it should play every time the sequence goes by that part. then just adjust the bpms and pattern length so it loops like you want it to..

of the whole song.... around the sample. or you can do the little scrolly thing that says "fit" and stretch it to the desired length, which will give you the pitched up or down sound you were talking about....
But, if you open the sample in a granulizer channel and to the "fit to" it should give you much better results.
But yes, otherwise, just adjust the tempo of you song to fit the samples original tempo.

in the 'Channel Settings' window, above the sample's waveform there is a 'Fit' box... scroll the number until it reaches the length u want. 1 unit = 1 semiquaver/1block on the step-sequencer/piano roll.

okay, i try to describe it more. i have a sample that lasts about 30 seconds... it's an ambient song from my friend.
now i wanna remix it, adding a drumloop.
so, if i had acid, i would put it into one track, acid would define the speed for itself with the built in bpm counter, then the drum loop on the second track.
but i don;t have acid, and i want to make everything in fruity loops.
but there isn't anything like the bpm counter in fruity, that change's the lenght of ALL samples to one or more pattern lenght's
now, is the only way to make this in fruity change the pitch or change the whole song bpm correct ??????????

yes. you'd have to set the songs bpms so the sample would fit in the loop exactly and repeat each time.
maybe there's some other thing you could do.. but i'm unaware of any other ways.. but adjusting the songs bpms and pattern lengths should work fine.

man, you can just do the "fit" thing, but that'll change the pitch of the sample too. Or you can use the granuliser, but I'm not gonna explain that it'd take forever. just make the slice speed or wave speed ro whatever it's called (top row of knobs, on the right). it's set to 100% by defauly, changfe them to change the length.
also the pitch way of fitting the sample is *NOT* inaccurate. You just have to learn how to use it. It's 100% accurate.

Sadist.... You want to put an entire ambient track into fruity, as one big wav file?
That's probably the weirdest way of doing a remix I've ever heard.
Why not cut the parts of the ambient section up and drop it into fruity? If its not a "loop" , ie, meant to be looped, it wont do what you want. Your best bet would be to cut the interesting parts up of the song , or get individual tracks from your friend , so you have the instruments separated.
