i have a couple of drumsynths like dr008 and battery, and
ive also been messing around with recording samples myself,
but i cant help like feeling im missing something.
is there something better? what do you guys mainly use for
the drum samples in your tracks?

its not just the samples...

good EQing and compression can do wonders....

try messing with those a bit

try making "kits" out of various sounds/voices.. lisps make
excellent hi-hats..
