*NEWMUSIC-8bitbeats & 80s pop attempt*

Got some new music up and criticism is welcomed.

LINKY.

When Sally Killed Harry is Sega-style melodies versus
8bitbeats and underlying drum intensities.

No Time For Rhymes is my result from a challenge a friend
gave me to write an 80s pop song - though it came out quite
different.

Enjoy.

No Time For Rhymes sounds like the bastard offspring of
Cylob's rewind. It's quite catchy and has got sort of an
80's feel to it.

When Sally Killed Harry is a good mash up session. Bit too
distorted for my tastes but only just. I like the contrast
throughout the track though and I like the reversed sounding
melody towards the end.

Good work mister :D

Thank you sir. I shall hold thee in my high court of Priests
upon my recreation of this world.

yeah, i was kind of unsure about that 80s track, but my
friend heard it and he highly enjoyed it, so i figured, what
the hell? :D

Twould make a good album closer. As for harry killed sally,
that is my newest, completed as of last night.

My fave part of Sally Killed Harry is the ending - don't you
love it when you make an obscure loop or something and it
turns out WAY better than you expected it to?

well. no time for rhymes. yes. it does remind me of
something, but i can't quite put my finger on it. nicely
done, though. heh.

sally killed harry. yes. the beats are a bit too
overwhelming and a bit too distorted, i believe as well.
maybe it's just my set-up over here that always makes your
tracks sound like the levels are kinda googly. *shrugs* oh
well. but yeah...it was pleasant otherwise.

Because Unbeleivable Music Plays in my brain I have decided
to urge fellow board members to listen to this music. It
really is quite good and I can see how much he would
appreciate your feedback. So come on...don't be
Christian...have a listen... :D

When Sally killed Harry started nice and then the drums
ruined it. Maybe it's just me, but the reversed sounds don't
really prepare the track for the distorted drums.

In that other song, I just noticed you really need to
compress the vocals, so that they "sit" better in the track.
As it is now, they don't really have that much presence and
sound very undefined like something you'd have as a
background thing.

I downloaded No Time for Rhymes.

I think I either like "80s-style" music or don't based
mainly on the melodies and how well the sounds and notes
"fit" together. I really like how this song begins and
ends, but I think the vocals and that electric piano sound
sort of ruined it for me. The vocals seemed sort of
a-tonal, although i imagine this was your intent. Also I
noticed the part at the end sounded very similar to a part
in the µ-ziq track phragmal synthesis. did you do this on
purpose or is it coincidence?

Paco - It's basically a song for coping, I had been thinking
about my ex when writing this, so it's sort of a revenge
song. To start very pretty then become insanely ugly - it's
how all bad relationships start and end. I might flatten to
vox on No Time eventually, since I have all the loops in a
safe spot still.

Handoverthecart - The part at the end was coincidence. I
didn't really notice it until you mentioned it. It's not
really supposed to be pop, just my attempt at it. So i
suppose opinions on this track are 50/50 right now - then
again, you can't please everyone.

Thank you both for listening. And thanks to Don for bumping
this topic! :D
