Has no one here seen Altered States or Dog Soldiers? AWESOME films.
Also, add PSYCHO (the original) to my list as well. Great film - a trendsetter. It STILL scares me.

actually it's quite good. it's one of the better modern werewolf films i've seen to date. super fucking violent - and it has a few evil dead-ish one-liners but not enough to make it hokey.
i highly recommend it. you'll be surprised.

Yeah, it's pretty good... I dunno about ''incredibly frightening'', but it's a bit of a minor classic I guess... reminds me of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, cannibals, the country, etc. I still haven't seen Last House on the Left though.
The title is extremely creepy, though... The Hills Have Eyes... shiver me timbers.

i love using samples from horror movies when i play live, last time i used samples from hellraiser, exorcist, the shining, candyman and a few others. I want to make a horror flick in the future and mix my own sounds to it, be fun. Me and my girlfriend have a few ideas for scripts rollin round.

"Bad Taste" by Pater Jackson is a classic gore and laugh horror flick. He also did "Braindead." Which is a must see. I think he went on to do some Ring lord series or something but i only watch mainstream movies. . .

The Blair Witch Project
Lots of votes for The Exorcist.. I find it laughable, more of a comedy now than a horror.
