I'm spending $US 411/¤ 365 on computer-parts next month so
my buildup will be like this (the bold are new parts the
striked are the ones that will be repleased)

AMD Duron 1GHz
AMD Athlon XP2400+ 2GHz
ECS K7S5A Motherboard w/LAN
Asus TNT2/64 32Mb AGP
Asus V9520TD GeForce FX 5200 128Mb DDR TV-out DVI
AGP

Creative Soundblaster Live! 1024
256Mb PC133 SD-RAM
512Mb PC2100 DDR-RAM
80Gb Western Digital SE w/8Mb Cache
40Gb IBM w/2Mb Cache
ATA 133 Yellow roundcables
Samsung 52/24/52/16 Combo CD/RW-drive (black)
Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Power Gamepad3

+ ofcourse black keyboard, trackball, webcam etc. etc.

I have NEVER used that much on my computer in one buy, and I
especially look forward to playing GTA Vice City with a
playstation-like joypad on TV-Out ...fuck that will rock!

I have never had a computer fully up-to-date....this will be
the first time ever that I actually have something worth
owning in that computer...

btw..."repleased" is a funny word...ofcourse I ment
"replaced"...erhm...yeah

I have kinda collected and bought parts over the last 5
years, and now I actually have 3 computers where two of them
are build out of used parts. This third one has all the most
up-to-date parts.

Damn yeah...I look forward to it so much. Especially the
TV-out feature. No more sitting by a crappy 15" and watching
DVD's.

Unless you use the s-video or a component out tv-out looks
like shit. You can't read anything and it's really fuzzy.
Something about the way the high definition signal is
decoded when to going to the tv makes it shit. S-video
shows some improved quality if your tv supports it, but
component out for HD-TV's looks perfect. And yes, having a
computer with new hardware in it kicks ass and makes you
feel important. One of mine was top of the line last
september and is still pretty good. The other is old and
ghetto built for file sharing only, and the other is a
laptop. Good luck finding all those parts.

it's because the TV is 50-60Hz only ...it's not a problem
when watching movies or playing games...The Geforce FX
supports dual monitoring so you can still use the computer
on your monitor while watching A movie from the same PC, but
on the telly

...and btw, I have already found all the parts and they are
in a saved Basket on a online-shop :) ...just waiting to get
my money before I click "buy" :)

thats it, the 60hz thing. Even movies are still not as
sharp, but it is tolerable. I just love high defintion
pictures. I do watch a good amount of movies with the
tv-out feature. I love having a movie full-screen on the TV
but still having my computer monitor available. I even have
my tv-out split upstairs so I can watch movies while I eat
dinner.

Get the Seagate Barracuda 120GB special edition instead. The
one with 8MB cache.

I highly suggest changing that graphics card for either a
5600 or a Radeon 9600. There still not too pricey, but much
higher performance. The 5200 is basically like a GeForce4
MX series, that is to say shite, with directx 9. Also, what
kind of motherboard are you getting? If it is a KT333 or
anything similar, check into PC2700 memory. I have a
feeling it won't be much more. Will you be gaming at all on
this machine?

Sorry, I must not have noticed the last paragraph. If
you'll be playing a game like GTA VC, please take my advice
and don't get the 5200.

I already have a MoBo...and i'll stick to it...it's 266Mhz
FSB yeah, but I think i'll manage.
Yes people DO say to me that I should buy another card, but
I stick to this one. I'm not the big gamer, and it's good
enough for what I need. Besides it's cheap as hell....it
costs less than what I paid for my TNT2 when I bought it.

with "card" i'm talking about the graphicscard

i'm thinking that my next investment will be the Terratec
6fire 24/96 soundcard

My rig:
Athlon XP 2400+
Soltek KT333 Motherboard
1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200 memory
GeForce4Ti 4600 Graphix card
80 GB Maxtor HDD
40 GB Maxtor HDD
Audigy Gamer soundcard.
Plextor DVD/CD-RW

Runs nice.

It'll work, yeah, but it'll look like piss.
I think we're coming from different places when it comes to
games though. I want eye candy with my violence. That's
pretty much all I do with my comp.

yeah I see your point but you have to take think about this:
I don't have much money, and, I do not need a fancy system,
I need a decent up-to-date system. And what i'm buying is
more than I asked for already. I could have done with a
GeForce3 and a XP1800+ wand kept the sd-ram (my MoBo can run
both DDR and SD btw), but I wanted to invest a little more
this time.

Yeah, I guess a 5600 would add an extra $75-100. The rest
of your stuff is good, and you can always update at a later
date. Like in a year or whenever.

That's an awesome deal, where are you shopping for that?

40gb OS drive
160gb Raid0
200gb media drive
all-in-wonder 8500
SBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum
DVD+RW
CD-RW
ASUS P4T533 mobo

My other computer is just a backup of the the big one with a
250gb external drive and a 80gb internal, with a 350mhz
