The factory level? Pretty damn badass... I like the Aquatic
Ruins a bit more though. Also the Sky Chase and Emerald
Hill.

Other standouts from a standout series-
Sonic 1- Green Hill Zone
Marble Zone
Labyrinth

Sonic 3-Hydro City
Flying Battery
Ice Cap

Knuckles- Chrome Gadget

But the Dreamcast/Gamecube era Sonics have awful hair metal
soundtracks, it's really a shame. The games are still good
though.

There need to be some good remixes done of the Sonic games
and the Streets or Rage series for that matter too.

The music on Streets of Rage 3 is all techno and bloody good
techno too.

Yeah, Streets of Rage was awesome... I'd love to see it
updated, 128 bit style. The music was ahead of its time, the
boss scenes had awesome hardcore beats.

Love the nice jazzy techno in the bar scenes from Streets of
Rage 2.

Sonic CD (on the MegaCD) had some awesome music! Sounded so
slick...
Yeah all the Streets of Rage music was amazing! Why can't
they get music that decent in modern video games? Why was it
they produced their best work on 4-channel 8-bit
soundtrackers?
I'm gonna do a search for Yuzo Koroshiro (if I can work out
how to spell his name!)...

The Mystic Cave music (both single and two player) were my
favourites. Hidden Palace music from the beta rom kicked ass
too.

Sonic 1:

-Marble Zone
-Spring Yard Zone
-Starlight Zone (One of my favorites!)

Sonic 2:
-Chemical Plant Zone
-Aquatic Ruin Zone
-Casino Night Zone (especially sped up :) )
-Oil Ocean Zone (although it's a bit short...)
-Wing Commander Zone, I even made up a song with the
melody:

Here we're flying way up into the sky (into the sky)
Here we're flying way up into the sky (into the sky)

It's a world of hedgehogs
With golden wings
It's a world of crazy, robotic things

And lots of golden riiiiinnnnnnngggs...
This music makes me siiiiiinnnngggg...

Sky rockets in flight, afternoon delight
Would you like to fly in my beautiful balloon
Take these broken wings and learn to fly again
Have you ever hearrrd that birrrd is the worrrrrd?

:D

Sonic 3:
All 6 levels have the best Sonic music ever created...

Sonic & Knuckles:
-Sky Sanctuary Zone
-Death Egg Zone

I really enjoy the music from the Sonic games, I have loads
of MIDI files from the games. One of my favourites is
'Metal Harbor' from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
