im just wodering if anyone have some tip on using a
gamepad, joystick or whatever as a midi cotroler. i have an
old joystick that would be sweet to control effects n stuff
with and a gamepad with a built in gyro that would be really
sweet to do the same with.
and i just wonder if anyone here have doun this and can give
me a hint or if anyone migth have a idea on howe to do it,
it would save me alot of time and would apriciate all the
help i could get.

i have never used any type of midi controler and it was ages
since i played games with a gamepad so im really kind of
lost in the subject.

hmm... this semes to be a dead end topic. guess you werent
so in to do stuff with different controlers, but it would
still be really sweet to play live with a gamepad or a
joystick. it would feel like playing video games on a stage
with a whole bunch of people watching, it would be really
sweet. you would probably feel like a computer/video game
nerd at some kind of nerd turnament, i would like it.

i know that it can be doun, becous a gamcontoler is basicly
the same as a midi controler (i think). i think you just
need some sort of software (drivers) or somthing.

No need to buy an expensive MIDI foot controller for your
keyboard, sound module, or MIDI-enabled effects pedal - just
use the hardware you already have!

MIDI Driver allows you to use any DirectX-compatible game
controller - such as racing pedals, flight pedals, or a
joystick - to control your MIDI equipment.

Hope these are of some use.....

i'd just keep bumping this till you get an answer. That's a
good idea - I'd like doing that, even though I have no
knowledge on how to build a contraption.

but on the bottom of
http://vellocet.com/software/VMIDIJoY.html there was two
smal programs to fix that.

you know i have thought about this myself. because i
program in Max/MSP i could write a patch that alloows me to
use a game controller as a way to control music pretty easy
actually.

I was thinking of using one of those DDR pads to trigger
sounds and stuff. Think about that, someone who is dancing
not TO the music but dancing to CREATE the music. pretty
cool concept, i mean kinda cheazy, but whateva.

if your going to write that patch could i get it? cous i
couldent really get the programs on those sites to work.

DDR?

Konami.

yeah it would be like Tom Hanks in big. But instead of the
keyboard there'd be drums n stuff. and realtime processing
effects that you could use your remote to control.
