Anyonere here heard of this Czech band? I saw their video
on the telly last night and I thought it was great!!! Kinda
like Björk/Goldfrapp/Broadcast but with a more 'techy/idm'
feel.

I placed an order for their new album 'Slowthinking' just
now. I'm hoping the record shop do their best and manage to
get it for me...

Also, it's the name of a sculpture in some church in
Italy...

Dunno:) I was playing counter-strike one day, it crashed,
and in the console I found an error line where this
occfactor appeared amongst other tech-gibberish. As I
thought it sounded really cool and futuristic, I started to
use it ;)

I used to love this band!!! Back in the early nineties they
released a few records on a label called free. They started
out as a noisy escapist guitar-band, sounding somewhat like
My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Disco Inferno. They
released an album called 'Sussurate' that was soon deleted,
but reissued not long ago on some U.S label, but I still
haven't managed to get hold of it. I do, however, have the
records they released on free records. The gorgeous
"Fluidtrance Centauri ep", originally a set of Peel sessions
released in 93 or 94; Explosive escapist guitar-bursts
topped with spaced out beautiful female vocals. One of my
fave indie ep's ever!

Then they released the fantastic ambient album 'free-d
original soundtrack" on free records, blending the guitar
and electronic line-up. The record makes me think of Brian
Eno and the Orb, for the reference... A GREAT album indeed!

'Free-d' was followed by a remix-ep with with remixes from
Disco Inferno and Global Communication, among others. Then
the band split up, but one member kept the name and started
working with a new vocalist. They've made mediocre trip-hop
that really has nothing to do with the original greatness of
EOST. It's a pity the rest of the band didn't protest, cause
the new EOST is crap IMO.

I used to know a Spanish guy called Nacho in school.

Yeah I've read some great reviews of Sussurate... hmmm maybe
I should've ordered that instead.

Co-existence: the electro scene is apparantly quite big in
Bergen? I went to Koneisto 03 here in Helsinki awhile back
and, amongst other artists, I saw Datarock and Erlend Oye.
They're from Bergen right?? I also went to see a dj set by
DJ Annie and a finnish guy last spring, that was great!

I know the vocalist in Datarock, Fredrick... They do cool
stuff, I like it! And it's a bit of a laugh too. I'm not a
big fan of Erlend Oye though. I find him a bit of a geek...

But you should check out Kaptein Kaliber, I know them too
and they make great electonica!

Yeah I thought their show was quite good, but a bit too
cheezy though..They have the best song titles ever though, I
remember a few from their gig; "Sex me up and I'll sex you
down" and "Maybelline, maybe she's born with it"... HEHE:)

I like their cheezyness! You should hear Fredrick's solo
stuff, THAT'S cheezy! :)

Here's a link to their site btw

Thanks! The mp3's brought back memories from the show, I
remember them being more rocking live though... well those
are probably old mp3's anyway.

I'll do a search for Kaptein Kaliber when I have more free
time..
