Used to be metal. First Scorn album (Vae Solis) sounds a lot like Godflesh (even has Justin Broderick on guitar). They progressively got more ambient and more dub. The latter day Scorn is verrrrrry deep, heavy basslines with sublimely stuttered electronic drums. People on this board should check it out. Quoit is more dnb style, and Harris has other collaborations which are always very deep and dark and brooding sounding. Some slower some faster. Scorn is now released on Ant-Zen. I have to order from Soleilmoon to get the shit. Look for Plan B to wreck some speakers (and ears).

Yes I've known of Scorn for at least 10 years. Heard his stuff on Peely when he became Scorn and a chap at school had a CD of his (very scary stuff) the early stuff I recall. VERY SCARY!

Yes, the music strikes fear in the hearts of mortals. Plus, Autechre remixed a Scorn track on Ellipsis that is quite frightening. MBM too. And Scanner. etc.

Ahh. shit yeah.
Scorn's album 'evenescence' is my favorite of their releases.
Autechre did a remix for Scorn on the remix album 'elipsis'
it's pretty tight too.

Elipsis is a great compliation of remixes aside from the autechre remix that you mentioned. There's also great remixes by Meat Beat Manifesto, Coil and Scanner.

Chillout music? You probably don't have Greetings from Birmingham or Plan B. Much harsher than Gyral, Logghi Barogghi, etc. The stuff released as Mick Harris (Hed Nod Sessions) is pretty chill though.

I have Vae Solis, Colossous, Evanensce, Ellipis and Gyral after that I gave up as I got tired of dub except for Vae Solis, the rest are pretty easy going fare.

I suggest Plan B, Governor, Greetings from Birmingham and Imginaria Award for listeners on this board. If they have it on emusic, anyway.

Anyone hear Stealth or Anamnesis? I haven't been following Harris as much in recent years but I just came across these on itunes from 2005, 2007. I think they sound pretty good. His stuff can tend towards being a bit dry, but that almost makes his tracks great candidates for mixes.

Stealth is fucking amazing, shows all the dubstep heads who their papa is seriously. half of the grime kids i talk to havent even heard scorn, but ifyou play them a Scorn record from 1995 theyd be like 'this is dubstep so whats the big deal' and you can feel good telling them 'this came out 5 years before dubstep'
stay tuned for 2 exclusive tracks very Stealth like in style due out in Record Label Records in June.
