Marlowe: What's the confusion about? Okay... I run the Aphex Twin fanlisting (which most of you probably know of by now) and before I used a free email form that was powered by a site/server called response-o-matic. This email form was flawed because it filled the email submissions with ads, and it was down frequently. A few people were also concerned about it possibly spamming them. So I got a new email form which is powered by the company that hosts my domain (doteasy.com) and now there are no ads in the emails, the form will not be down constantly, and you don't have to worry about anyone spamming you. Clear now? |

Well for those who still don't know what FANLISTING is, i'll explain: A fanlisting is a place where fans of a certain subject (in this case: Aphex Twin) can come together on 1 website and get their name, email, country, and website (optional) listed on one site so fans may discover other fans. Now I realize this can be done here, but please keep in mind that not all fans may come to this board or even know it exists, so this fanlisting helps such fans discover other fans. It's also a way to get your website more hits. For example: if you have a personal music project with a website and choose to get it listed here, someone may come across your name and the link to your page in the list, check it out, and find themselves liking your music. HOWEVER - If you decide to get your website listed you must put a link to the fanlisting somewhere on your site (the more sites linking back to this fanlisting the more hits it gets). Everybody seems to have a hard time following this but it is required. Another little note: this fanlisting is listed at thefanlistings.org - a site that has about 25,000 other fanlistings listed. It also belongs to 3 webrings and is affiliated with 2 other fanlistings, so the chances of people wandering onto the site and maybe viewing the list aren't too bad.
