now that the war on drugs and war on terrorism have been
won, the u.s. begins its war on truth (assisted by big
media)

to her only today.

Is that the same public that "according to a national poll,
believe Iraq was behind the 11 September attacks."?

Apathy is what allows these fucks to get away with the shit
they do.

Still, it's your perogative not to care.

It's not apathy - it's careful manipulation. Don't blame the
victims, blame the motherfucking perpetrators.

the same public that when polled another time said they were
against invading iraq

i'm not saying the public is savvy enough not to believe
lies from the govt and the media but don't assume that the
public is in agreement with them. i mean as much spin as the
bush administration puts on everything, his approval rating
is way down.

also, don't assume that the news that you're reading is
without spin. everyone has their agendas.

I mentioned apathy in response to spacecadet's post (I
forgot to hit the reply to link).

Sure blame the perpetrators but ultimately 'they' can only
do what they do with the consent of the people. If the
general public were as concerned about politics as they are
with say sports or movies etc, then I'd dare say such events
would arise.

The people get the government they deserve.

how can you be passionate about something that does nothing
but harm and misrepresent you? to the minds of most
americans, politics is synonymous with politicians, who they
despise. without an insight into how they can change their
system, and thus their lives, of course they'll be passive.
it's those of us that realize that you can make a difference
that are passionate about politics and know what's really
going on.

George Bush was made President AGAINST the consent of the
people.

Yet until the rising body count in post-war Iraq, he had the
highest approval rating of any US president EVER!

Isn't life weird?

that's because of (his coordinating of?) the 9/11 terrorist
attack

yes - exactly -- just like Bush Snr's approval rating leapt
during the first gulf war.

"how can you be passionate about something that does nothing

but harm and misrepresent you?"

Surely that's a reason TO be passionate then? If the world
was governed like some Eden-like place I could understand
their passivity. It's not. But still the majority of people
behave like sightless little birds and swallow anyhting
given to them.

Just fucks me off thats all.

trading foreign and american lives and alliances with other
world leaders for a high domestic approval rating

no b/c it doesn't dawn on them, it's an unrealized
feeling/understanding.
