Well it is now exactly 4 months (I think) since I first
made a track, and to continue with my development I am now
working on my drum programming.

This track, as the title suggests is 2 minutes long, and
demonstrates what I have learnt over the past 4 months in
drums. I would appreciate it if you would give it a listen
and tell me what you think :)

Also if you have a chance listen to the 30 second snippet of
granuslags, a track off my forthcoming EP.

Kind Regards

Lee

THE GOD DAMN MUSIC IS HERE :D!!!!

btw...I am very happy today and I love you all.

I liked the beginning, but the beat kinda spoiled the feel !
Rip it off and focus on developing the beginning section and
it'll be really nice !

The beat is suppose to be the point of the track :D

OK, I WILL THEN! :D

Although I have made me a class sounding synth in Reaktor
and my new track is going to be based on that :P

thats some good beats but the levels arent right between the
two
you need to bring both into the foreground

Thanks for commenting :)

I know what you are saying about the levels, had it of been
a proper track I would have done that but it is literally
just an experiment with the drums :)

Anyone listened to granuslags yet?

i realize the beats are the focus of the track but i think
the melody gets a little grating and uninteresting after a
while. i think you should change it all together into
something more pleasant to contrast the harshness of the
beats.
the drum programming is good but i would suggest a couple
things. first, you ought to have a few more breaks, like
pauses between all the spastic bits. it would grab
attention more and give a little more dimension to the
rhythm. also, you should vary up the drum sounds a bit more
since it is the focus of the track. add a few more
different kinds of sounds or add some subtle eq or wah or
flang effects. just to mix up the sounds a bit. don't
over-do the effects though, at least not through the whole
track. you wanna try to keep the drums sounding crisp.

but that's just my opinion. not trying to patronize you or
anything. its impressive work for only 4 months.

thanks for listening :)

I am having second thoughts about having posted the track
now. I do actually take on board your comments about the
pauses, it is a good suggestion, but as mentioned previously
it is not a 'track' as such. It is more an experimental
peice where I was literally seeing what I could do with drum
programming, I initially never intended to post it on the
board but I thought it would be interesting to see whether
people thought I was on the right track. I have done a few
experiments with adding effects to the drums (granuslags on
my zebox page is one of them) but I will keep working and
hopefull by the time I come to post my 6 month track it will
be a proper track with all the bells and whistles.

Thanks again for listening, I really do appreciate it :D

yeah i get it, i'm just saying, an experiment can evolve
into something better.

if you add to it or change it or remix it later or whatever,
you should post the updated version. i would be interested
to hear it.
