More old skool jungle, from Mu this time. The samples sound pretty phat.

Remarc is one of the originals, made some stormers back in the day, good to see him back.

highly anticipating. remarc is one of the main guys behind the old extreme amen mashups of the day (94 style)

Oh well...I probable have most of the tracks on vynil already then as I was a big fan way back when. R.I.P. is one of the most memorable drum and bass releases ever (although the Ray Keith mix is my personal favourite) :D
i will still pick up the CD though.

Sorry I've heard the samples and I'm not impressed. Maybe if I heard this stuff back in the 90's I might have been interested. But c'mon, whats with using the Amen break? Its so fucking cliche and outdated. I'm sick of hearing it. I will NOT be purchasing this album.

He was actually one of the first few artists I actually heard using the Amen break in his stuff. He is one of the original jungalists so he can use the break as much as he likes. :P

I just think it has been used in uninventive ways on too many mediocre tracks. It can still be used if done properly, I mean Mike P used it well on Bilious Paths. I still find it a break that gets me hard when it is used well...mainly these Remarc tracks are gonna be a nostalga trip though.

I'm also not sure about going back to old 94 style jungle, it was all done back then, and very well, but why go back? Apart from plain old nostalgia?

Why go back? Why not - amen edits are unfinished business - and let's see who's the originator. Where Squarepusher was inspired for his beatz.
It's just a reissue of 94/95 tunes - originals. Not a '03 update like Soundmurderer + SK1 stuff (which I also like)

Tolstoyed: The Remarc tunes were all released before on 12" vinyl record disc. It's a re-release compilation album. Wired for Sound is BOOTLEG mix cd. Illegal and unlicensed. That's why it's on Stupid Turd records or whatever it's called

I think it's mixed really badly, but the choice of tunes is quite good. Some I'd never heard of - mainly on the 3rd mix.

soundmurderer said (on this site) that it was just a compilation of the tunes he liked at that time...i guess him and remarc must be buddies sharing the same music, names...
i think 3rd one is my favourite one btw

nice avatar phresch ;-)
Umm I've heard some of the remarc samples and they're like....boring.
I know it was done ages ago, but this is now and the tracks barely seem to hold together as tracks, but rather "ok amen break - check, umm siren - check...what else...okay soe random vocals, check...ok we have a song!"
Not to hate or anything, I'm just not down with it, sorry! But then again I don't liek most fo the stuff coming out on that label at the moment. Unfortunate :(

if you don't like the drum & bass style, or take it for what it is, there's definitely no way you're going to appriciate it.
its not transcendant music. its just excellent jungle music.

that style was utterly rinsed at the time, it became a parody of itself in the end... I still like that stuff, a lot, but i'm into new d&b at the moment.
