Hello,
Can anyone help ?
I am not an alcoholic, but have a booze related question.
I am now 25 and have been boozing for about 8 years.
On a Sunday after a long Saturday session I sometimes feel depressed and worry about things that don't actually need worrying about.
Is this a normal hangover thing? As it has only started to happen over the last two years.
Thanks Teeth

Everything that happens when your hungover seems bad, coming down off drugs is worse !
You just need to be able to laugh at yourself, and try to put things into perspective.

So are the reactions in the body occurring during a hangover similar to a come down?
I think I will have something planned for the Sunday to keep my mind occupied rather than thinking about things that are not going to happen.

I feel great. I have no hangovers anymore. I used to throw up and stuff, when I was young and began drinking. But that is all gone, sine I moved to Skövde and became a rawfoodist.
Even when I am so drunk I pass out - I feel excellent (except for that I might be tired) when I wake up.
Depending on how I passed out (once I feel down some steps) I might feel some physical pain though.
But no worries. If I had bad hangovers like the once I used to have, I'd probably not be drinking so much anymore...
sometimes I drink loads for the fun of it - to grab the moment. Tonight is one of thoose nights :)

hehe... rawfoodist is if your diet consists of +75% raw foods... I do as much as possible which is (usually, not now really) 100% raw food 5 days of the week, and maybe 75% the other two days.
I will not do alcohol my entire life, but it's fun and a big part of the social life of Sweden.
Your resarch seems interesting - notify me if you discover anything...

Send an e-mail and I will send my mobile, you can give me a ring when you are back in town / toon.
Enjoy the rest of your stay in Lithuania. Are you bringing your lass back? If so see if you can find me a wife over there. When I was in sixth form some Russians came to stop, when I was pissed one night I attempted to chat one up who looked like Diedrie Barlow from Coronation street, maybe that is why I am sometimes depressed. I know what you mean about anxiety attacks and nightmares. It is nice to here someone else experiences these (not that I want anyone to have anxiety attacks or nightmares that is). This proves booze is the common denominator, not me or you.

for a rawfooddiet any raw food is "allowed". But yeah I eat a vegan rawfooddiet, which consists of veggies and fruits (and [raw] nuts). You can do a lot of things with raw food, but I usually only eat fruits and salads.
It's a great diet, my health is great and I feel great...

I will have a look over the next few weeks to see if there are any 1 bedroom flats to rent.
Are you bothered about location?
West End or Quayside?

I am afraid it is true. But fear not.
A night called traveler started last night at Foundation. A weekly slot by those who brought the aphex twin and autechre to Scotland Yard. Foundation is not likely to close down and the sound system is very loud and very high quality.
I will keep my eyes open and see if any good acts are due to play.

I work for the Evening Chronicle, we print a weekly property publication, so it should be no problem to find a place.
I was down in London for the day on Tuesday. Flats in the city cost 600 notes per week ?!?!.
I went to see the new Satchi and Satchi gallery, and very good it was too.

cool. this summer I'm staying in Linköping, Sweden's 5th largest city, but yet it has a small core/centre. Not many clubs/bars...
but in the autumn I go back to Skövde... I really like Skövde, it's only a 4th the size of Linköping but there are some really nice people there, and it's a quite town...

I hate hangovers! Mine just kept getting worse and worse - It's like I'd go out, spend loads of money, the night'd be over in a flash then I'd be stuck at home the next day feeling low and ill and it'd drag on, and on...
I just don't bother drinking heavily now. Magic Mushrooms are the only things I know of that actually leave you feeling good the next morning, and skunk sometimes....
Bah! Drugs and alcohol just hold you back though, stop you doing anything with your life I recon, on weekend is pretty much like any other and you don't get anywhere - Sometimes it's good to be bored, 'forces' you to do something interesting with yourself.

you got that right! actually there are different kinds of juices you can make to feel better... also drinking a lot of water before going to bed might help you from getting a hangover.

sundays are shitty in general. the weekend is over and nothing is going to happen. my typical sunday is like wondering if i ever gonna be satisfied. Every Weekend i go out to have fun and it works most of the time, then i come home and feel miserably alone.
some girls talk to me and i am pretty normal with them, flirting just a little bit and dont tell anything about me. somehow they all realize im not very confident and there is nothing i can do to hide it...
see ya im on my way to portugal, when you are reading this, if you do at all :>

I definitely get depressed after a night of boozing and smoking herb. I attribute it to serotonin and melatonin depletion. It's like Ecstacy, the chemical in the pills causes your brain to release it's supply of 'happy' chemicals (serotonin) all at once and that's why you feel all good. But the next day they are GONE and you feel TERRIBLE. That's why I definitely couldn't do E with any regularity. I know that pot has the same effect on melatonin, a chemical that effects sleeping and dreaming, don't know about alcohol but I know for sure I feel depressed in the morning after getting fucked up. Knowing that it's just a chemical imbalance I find quite helpful actually, gets me out of the whole 'why does my life suck?' self-questioning.

Teeth,
I get the same feeling, and coincidentally wondered about this precise phenomenon last Sunday. I felt really very upset, and despite not feeling particularly hungover (no headache or grogginess etc), I just felt very detached. It's weird, I'm sure I've only recently felt like this.
Maybe it's something in the beer at various Newcastle pubs/bars. :D
Tim,
I've just been looking for a place to stay myself, a single room, as I'll be staying on in Newcastle next year to do a postgrad. I've just found a free room in Heaton for 45 a week in a great, totally well-kept house. I'll be sharing with two med school girls (seem quite cool) and whoever fills the last (very small) room.
I thought I'd have problems getting a single room so late in the year before the new term, but it hasn't been too bad. I checked out about 7-8 houses in Jesmond, and have been disgusted by the prices commanded by the landlords for such dilapidated, student-worn shitholes. I thought it'd be a cool area to live in (being able to stumble into Osbournes whenever would be cool) but it just doesn't seem to measure up bang for buck. I checked out places in Heaton and they're much better (I live off Chillingham road at the moment, but fancy a change of scenery).
Finding a place for one person seems pretty expensive unless you flat-share, in which case I recommend you check out Northumbria Uni's site and check out their excellent housing database, which'll provide you with a list of landlords with free rooms from various areas around the city. It's getting a bit scarce on content now as it is pretty late, but you should have little problem finding something suitable.
I was going to move down to London had I not applied for the postgrad, but I'm glad I didn't. Newcastle's a nice enough place, at least I don't really fancy moving out after being here 5 years.

Hello Everyone (in particular Chris and Tim),
I have just been to the shittest nightclub in the north called 'Stevy Y's' in Washington. It is quite rough, so rough in fact that you have to walk through an airport style metal detector before entry.
Do you both fancy making some tunes whence back in Newcastle?
My plan is not to use sounds; instead I will do the following:
1. Send false teeth in the post to people I do not know. (Go to the dental hospital and ask for bags of false teeth and they will give you carrier bags filled with false teeth)
2. Purchase five washing lines from Gateshead indoor market and purchase five watermelons. Drill a hole in each watermelon and thread a washing line through each watermelon. Then walk to the high level bridge. Walk along the bridge and estimate the fifth of the length of the bridge. At each fifth tie one washing line to the innards of the bridge and let the rest of the line / watermelon hang below the bridge. Repeat this for each fifth of the distance. From below there will be five lovely watermelons hanging from a bridge. It will look lovely.

We could then pitch that to the Baltic, as some sort of "pentode communicative art initiative, bridging the communities of Newcastle and Gateshead through the medium of fresh natural produce." It's sure to be hottt.
