Ok.....

Sherpards Pie is lamb mince (strands of lamb/sheep) with
vegtables, gravy, peas and carrots topped with mashed
potato.

Cottage pie is the same but it has beef/com meat..

Lancashire Hot Pot Recipe
Ingredients
1lb 8oz Neck of organic lamb (Mutton is traditional but
difficult to obtain)
2 organic lamb's kidneys (if liked)
0.5pint of water
2lbs of organic potatoes
1 large organic onion
pepper and salt to taste
organic butter for greasing
Method
Grease a casserole and put in a thick layer of sliced potato
using about one pound of the potatoes. Cut the meat into
cubes and put this on top of the potatoes. Cover the meat
with sliced onion and sprinkle with pepper and salt and then
pour the water into the casserole. Cut the remaining
potatoes into chunks and place them to cover the whole dish
and brush them with a little butter. Cook for 2 hours at 190
degrees centigrade.

Beef Stew and dumplings
Make a dough for the dumplings as follows:
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt, and
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon shortening
flour

Instructions:

Make the dough and add enough flour to make a stiff dough.
Use rolling pin roll out very thin and cut in strips; put a
few at a time into the beef broth, cooking each batch until
done.
Continue till all are in the pot, then pour over the pieces
of beef which have been removed and serve.
Leaving the bony pieces in the pot keeps the dumplings from
sticking to the bottom and burning.
