i just recently downloaded "ambient 4: on land" by brian
eno. its great.

'06 - unfamiliar wind [leeks hills]' was the first i heard
but '08 - dunwich beach, autumn, 1960' is my fave at the
moment.

can anyone recomend me any similar stuff please?

SAW II is great, ive downloaded 3, shuttle358 albums and
highly recomend them.

im looking for nice soundscapy stuff with no beats and no
unsettleing noises.

cool skink.. i like towards the end.. sounds like an old
boat motoring down a river somewhere.. i always picture the
river from appocolypse now for some reason.. its something
you can have on repeate for a while and forget its playing :

get all three albums by stars of the lid.
they are:
"the tired sounds of stars of the lid", "avec laudenum", and
"per aspera ad astra"

you should also get eno's "apollo" and the stuff he did with
harold budd, "the pearl" and "ambient 2: the plateaux of
mirror"

biosphere - as the sun kissed the horizon. cool field
recording.. airport? birds chirping.. s'nice.

exellent.. chears wayout.. so much cool music such a small
pipe to pull it thru [fiddy6kay].. s'good in a way, if i
pulled it in any faster would not have enuf time to listen
to it all..

also check - -> serial experiments lain - bootleg.. its all
the sound peices used in the series.. all pretty short but
some very nice stuff.

yeah, thats such a nice intro track.. i remember when i
first put on substrata, i wasnt sure if the stereo remote
was working..because all i could hear was the faint sound of
a plane flying overhead, i realized it was the cd when i
noticed the plane sound stopped every time i hit play.

its kinda like some of 'on land' where you can just hear the
drone of crickets in the distance.
