what the fuck!
ok... some nice comic moments and i don´t mind the laid back, non gratuitous vibe, but the whole theme of "coincoidences" and "keeping the faith"
was pretty puke-inducing. Very schmaltzy, even if there were moments of irony. i like my picket fences barbed and fucking sharp

yeh, i like Unbreakable better. but i would say Signs was almost as good as Sixth Sense. The 'keeping the faith' theme has been discussed as being a little pretentious (is this the word i'm looking for) because it implies that God would favor one of his creations (humans) over another (the aliens). other than that though i liked it. I like that little Rory Culkin kid. I expect good things from him as he grows up.

yeah! its a really interesting take on the whole comic book movie style of film making.
especially the cinematography and the way the shots are framed. subtle graphic novel style paneling, not over the top like all the screen wipes in 'Hulk.'

signs had a great premise, but the aliens were hurt by water? and they looked like, who knows?
how stupid, ruined the whole thing.

Yeah that footage gave me chills all over.
Blatant - yeah, the water thing - then why do they want us for food since our bodies are what, two thirds water? I'd imagine they'd be more into our nice dry bags of flour and rice.

unbreakable is fucking shit. Its the worst film of ALL time. Absolute shite. Signs was bollocks too. If the aliens are so fucking intelligent, why did they pick a planet that's 70% water, and why cant they open doors? Dumbass movie

there has been lots of speculation as to what the alien's actual intentions were. on this message board and others. It is simply never explained in the movie probably because it would be real stupid to have a scene with the king alien saying "People of earth! we have come to make desert topping out of your virgins!" or some shit. And also, the alien's intentions are not the center of the movie. All we know is that the aliens are trying to harvest humans, for some unknown reason.
just because something in a movie doesn't make sense, doesn't necessarily mean the movie is bad.
To say it does is to imply that you are the bench mark for intellegence of the average movie watcher.
However, if a movie sets up a set of rules for it's universe and then breaks them, then you would have a valid argument for a movie not making sense. I don't think Signs does this.

it didn't work for me either. i thought the film "bad taste" had more credibility.
the whole world would not site idly by as it was being invaded.

It sucked big time no matter what the movie implies. It isn't even worth discussing. Even if this movie would get a 2/5 star rating it would be overrated.

No man, you're thinking of the Signs porn parody "Hinds".

but, the premise that creatures who should know water is deadly to them, would harvest earth humans, which have water all around them, is stupid.
Maybe they had big plans, but them green guys should have done more reaserch.

i found it impossible to ignore the gaping holes in the logic of the story. the cameo by the director was embarrassingly bad.
"signs" *does* break the rules of it's universe. the aliens are defined as unable to tolerate water. our atmosphere is full of water vapor. case closed.
i think the film had a kernel of a fantastic idea ruined by the effort to marry it to a ridiculous alien invasion scenario.
