unless you've read some little news thing on a fansite, you
probably won't know the answer to the first question, but
for the fila brazillia remix of 'climbing up the walls' were
the vocals rerecorded for that remix?

-

why the FUCK was 'worrywort' left off any album ?! amnesiac
was sortof like the songs left off of kid a .. and this was
left off of amnesiac.. making amazing song like a kid a
c-side!!!.. why!!!?? it would've been perfect for kid a..
maybe it could've replaced 'motion picture soundtrack' ..
I'm not really into that song

there needs to be a compilation of 2000 - unreleased
tracks.. some of them are more impressive than the album
tracks

-

what is this michael stipe song 'leave' ? is that a
radiohead song that he recorded or something? I have an mp3
of it.. and I know many times people turn retarded when it
comes time to provide the file information on mp3s.. that
is credited as 'radiohead/michael stipe'.. this is most
likely very incorrect

..right? it sounds it

titsworth? anyone

i couldn't think of a delicate way to say they were dumb
questions..

those aren't dumb questions..

sure they were.. #1 is an artistic decision: a) it's a
matter of personal preference for songs, although i do agree
it's one of their best b-sides, and b) it has a lot to do
with album flow. #2 isn't a question and everyone knows the
band's been considering a b-side album since.. well since
always. but the idea of a THIRD disc of material from the
kid a sessions just wasn't right for them obviously. #3 is a
really dumb question, like people asking about aphex twin's
tetris song or "outside kickass violin solo".. sorry, i
didn't want to be mean, but you kinda twisted my arm..

this is annoying.. first of all I wasnt looking for an
answer to the thing about 'worrywort' ..my second question
.. that was just like a 'who's with me on this?!' thing..
and dont tell me about personal preference and album flow I
know that.. you're not teachning me anything.. I wasnt'
asking about whether or not they are doing an album of
bsides.. I said they should. my first question was whether
or not thom yorke's vocals were rerecorded for that remix..
not a dumb question
and as far as the michael stipe thing is concerned.. I said
I doubted it was for real, but was just checking.. maybe the
bass player was playing the bass on it and the drummer was
drumming.. I was trying to find out if there was any
radiohead connection at all .. like one that wouldnt be
immediately obvious... something that linar-note checking
would answer

they were not dumb questions

i missed the first question actually, that's a good one... i
have no insight into what the answer is

anyway i just get sick of people being lazy about radiohead
hoaxes.. ie: "wish you were here" by radiohead (it's really
sparklehorse with extremely minimal contributions from thom
singing over the phone)

1) the vocals for the fila brazillia rmx weren't
re-recorded, at least to my knowledge. in all likelyhood,
the fila folks were provided with dry vocals, stripped of
all the effects (echoes & whatnot) which were added in
post-production to the original track, which is why they
sound different in the remix.

2) agreed. 'worryworth' is an excellent track, as are a
number of 'amnesiac' b-sides, which in my humble opinion
would've served far better replacing a lot of the shit
tracks which went on the album-proper. 'kinetic', 'fog' &
'cuttooth' are also solid! the only crap b-sides which
radiohead made to date are 'trans-atlantic drawl', 'the
amazing sound of orgy' & 'fast track'.

3) the song 'leave' is from the R.E.M. album 'new adventures
in hi-fi' from 1996 and was not co-written by anyone from
radiohead.

HOWEVER, an REM fanclub video that came in the Christmas
package for 1998 includes 2 performances that took place at
the Tibetan Freedom concert in New York. REM perform E-Bow
the Letter. Radioheads Thom Yorke sings lead vocals on that
song. Stipe is singing back vocals. The second song is a
Radiohead song Lucky. Michael Stipe sings lead vocals on
that song. These videos were only sent out to REM fanclub
members.

so there ya go.

ah hah..

I didnt like kinetic.. what they were trying w/ the drums
wasnt working.. however I do love the amazing sounds of orgy
and yeah, trans-atlantic drawl kinda sucks

I have a few more dumb quesitons: what is so "special" about
the special edition amnesiac and kid a cds? I found some in
a local sam goody and I was wondering if there were any good
reason to get them

the 'kid a' special edition is basically a little book with
artwork which isn't included in the regular release, plus
some sort of a radiohead-ish storyline - done by the ever
awesome stanley donwood with contributions from thom yorke.

not sure about the 'amnesiac' special edition, other than
it's in a different format - it may or may not have
different artwork from the regular release.

there's also a special fold-out map edition of 'hail to the
thief' as well.

i'm sure you've been there before, but

ateaseweb.com

is by far the best site for all your radiohead needs. you
can find out pretty much anything you ever wanted to know on
there.

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-06-28 02:25 [#00760421]
Points: 3348 Status: Regular

yeah I didnt think this hail to the theif thing is anything
to write home aobut though.. some girl spilled like white
zinfendel on it when I had a party like the day I got it..
they wouldnt take it let me exchange it because the cd wasnt
damaged enough.. and they didnt have any sp. editions for me
to replace it w/ .. so I had to buy another one somewhere
else where I was given a HTTT 7" promo w/ one of the
GREATEST b-sides and coolest radiohead songs, "paperbag
writer" so it all worked out ok in the end.. plus now I can
use the map as a poster. --that part didnt get "wined"

I just listened to 'cuttooth' for the first time and I was
quite surprised.. it sounds nothing like amnesiac and like
nothing they've ever done before.. it's very .. like
american ahaha
I heard like neil young, the rolling stones, pearl jam and a
lot of other groups in that. it wasnt very radiohead at
all..

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-06-28 02:26 [#00760422]

yup that's a great site

I think 'where bluebirds fly' has cool music and everything
but the singing is godawful.. there doesnt seem to be any
direction there.. it's also like a venetian snares song in
one respect.. the melody and its timing has nothing to do w/
the beat and what's going on in the background

did they make the u.s. copies of 'HTTT'
copy protected?

i guess a lot of people are bitching about that - the copy i
bought has glitches and skips in places because of it, and
this girl whom i know who works at a record store told me
that a lot of people were returning it because it wouldn't
play in their portable CD players, or their car players,
etc. i e-mailed the EMI quality control about it and
they'll send me a proper copy.

'cuttooth' just sounds quite pop, i guess. i don't hear any
pearl jam in there, or anything of the sort though. it's
just more catchy than their usual stuff.

my copy works fine one of the first things I did with it was
rip it so.. how do they make it copy protected?

uh, it contains a self-initializing software -
basically a media player of sorts - which prevents you from
opening it up in other programs which may allow you to rip
it to MP3. making an image copy is also not possible
either, and if you record the audio to WAV, the sound
quality is really shoddy.

"cuttooth" is a tribute to Neu! and they nail it

anyway, all your song answers could be found at
ateaseweb.com and greenplastic.com.. if it's not listed as a
radiohead b-side or live unreleased track then it's a hoax
mp3

1) original vocal masters im sure.
2) all the songs for kid a amnesiac and the bsides were
recorded in the same 18 month period. so theres a likeness
to all of them...because they were done around the same time
frame.
3) i dont know...i dont like rem.
