if you can dig around for their older shit, it's great too

The only song from their upcomming album is River City
Ransom, which is the song "Face First" redone.

Anyway, check out "Aria" & "Unwind"

The Empty

I know I do. EWF is very different, both are dear to my
heart, and rocking soul.

alice in chains, temple of the dog, candlebox....so on and
so forth.

I downloaded that zebox track. You didn't lie. I like this.
It was kinda refreshing with all that garbage bullshit they
play on the radio.

you check the other band also? I prefer them, but it's a
harder rock.

I like rock... and metal...
the rock I listen to the most is soft like Smashing Pumpkins
and Placebo.

the other day? (you made a topic about it). that song was
good.

hooray! Yes sir... the band "The Empty"
wrote that song about Donnie Darko.

Check their webpage for the only other song currently up,
"To the Maker of Sick"

I like it better than "Frank: He Made Me"

I'm listening to the Ever We Fall song now..

It sounds pretty cool.. not really my style but I can dig
it. I like the breakdown with the snare roll part and the
clean guitars there..

I don't know if you like metal but if you do then you should
be ashamed if you don't know MASTODON. Download any
of the songs, but I recommend "March Of The Fire Ants" in
particular.

d/l it now m8.

that's how it should work, I expose you to something new,
you do the same.

I really appreciate your comments too, I'm just trying to
share good music. If it appeals to everyone, or no one, I
still think it's good stuff, stuff to share.

whoa! I'm not used to music that is this heavy.

It's like hopesfall (95% screaming) with some death metal
something.

wow, I'll keep listening, but I don't want to go to hell for
doing so!

offline Smyrma from Beloit, WI (United States) on 2003-06-28 01:08 [#00760384]

I got the Empty song too, can't say I really like it a lot..
The screamy bits are cool but the rest is a little too whiny
for my tastes.

I'm going to listen to the EWF song again after this to see
how I like it the second time around.

actually, you know what it totally reminds me of?

a similar band, called "Immortal Cringe"

it's very similar. Not something I would listen to all the
time, but very powerful.

are they still around?

I couldn't find anything on Google.

I have their CD, Undying Fear. It's not bad, the drums,
imo, suck balls, like tennis shoes in a dryer, otherwise,
not a bad effort.

offline Smyrma from Beloit, WI (United States) on 2003-06-28 01:17 [#00760391]
Points: 2478 Status: Lurker

I can't find whether or not they're still around.. They
don't have any shows listed and their last release listed on
mp3.com is 2000. I think the guitar work sounds pretty
cool, old school thrash influenced. The drums are poorly
produced (especially that triggered bass drum, ew) but well
played. The vocals are a little bit too old school / cheesy
for me though. The song "Diminished" on mp3.com has some
sweet lead parts

you dont get what? I was saying that has to be one of the
worst band names I've ever heard.. so bad, in fact, that it
should land somewhere w/in the top 3.. a bit of an
exaggeration to make it funnier
