(sorry if it's not ok to talk about this here, didn't see anything in the faq, so...) i'm totally and completely new to this and i was wondering how it works. what type of file do i need to be looking for? for instance, say i wanted to dl reason 2.0: if i search in soulseek i see all sorts of files, .exe, .rar, .iso... which one do i need? sorry for the stupid question but for the moment i'm on dialup and i don't want to waste time getting something that won't work.

I don't think we are allowed to talk about cracked software, especially as Soulseek would really not be ideal and KazaaLite would probably be a better bet.
We are also not allowed to say that the file extensions you mentioned are normally just referring to an executable zip file (they unpack themselves)...a manual zip file (zipped using winrar etc.) and an CD image for direct burning to disk respectively.
If we were allowed to talk about cracked software I would probably recommend you just look for the one that the most people have as usually this is a working one (but there is no sure way other than possibly messaging a person to ask them)...
Pity we can't discuss these things...

install kazaa on your computer also - easier to search for exactly what you want (it has distinct search parameters, allowing you to search for either music, video, software or whatever other types of files). most music software is available on there as well.
as for soulseek, if you're looking for a cracked version of a particular program, they are usually either in *.EXE format or *ZIP - or other compressed format (depending on the size) *.ISO is an image file containing an exact copy of, say windows XP, which you will have to burn onto a CD-R upon downloading, using whatever burning software which allows you to burn an ISO (easyCD creator, etc.).

All this Radiohead stuff on the board is scaring me...I am worried they will become accepted as electronic music artists when they have limited ability in this field.

worry not! they're just hailed as the best band going, but not electronic musicians per se. besides, this MB isn't IDM-only (unless the FAQ has been updated stating otherwise! hehe!). lots of RH fans on here.

Erm...they are not very good...they use predictable boring sounds...tey are not inventive at all...a lot of the stuff on Kid A sounds like every other Autechre wannabe clone who thinks they can get the same effects by speeding up a drum pattern and wacking it through a delay. It seemed forced and not very good.
I love their instrument based music, I really don't see the point in them doing electronic music though when their talent obviously lies elsewear...I mean if it wasn't for the occasional appearence of Thoms voice on some tracks I don't think I would ever bother listening to Kid A and Amnesiac.
Having said that I like what they do with the electronic stuff when they are live :)

Reason2 is 3CDz (1 program CD and 2 sample CDz). I don't believe I've ssen just a cracked compressed version. If you want to upgrade to 2.5 you need a new serial no too.

vampire: the masquerade
don't bother getting it in either way. It's not worth paying for, and not fun playing.

GOD SAVE ECNADNIARB!!!!!!! That's exactly my views on radiohead....i just couldnt put all the words together in the right order.
I'm also worried about the love shown to this band on the board. They are most definetely not electronic music artists.

Yeeeees, a command line anyhow - wget will snag all the files of a particular type off a page. Very handy if a page has lots of zip or midi files and you don't feel like clicking one at a time.
And what a link it was! This version runs GREAT! I have the latency down to 1 ms and it doesn't glitch unless I do something foolish like minimize the window. Thank you a million times, you are my Cubase savior.

Since no one knows if we are allowed to talk about cracks or what not. I wonder if I would be allowed to ask if anyone knows the password to the Logic 6 crack on macs? I wonder if anyone would be allowed to answer? Mysteries are abound!

I'm not allowed to tel you this but there's probably a keygen or a fully cracked version to be found on Kazaa lite or so....but don't use it....it's illegal and I never use illegal software.

As far as I know there are still no working [k] for Logic 5 on macs. The XSkey is very hard to crack. Therefore I got the legal version.
