Coincidentally, it has the same year that I was born in.

By the way, what song are you talking about?

1979 smashing pumpkins. At some point in the song, there's
an audio error, both onthe single and the album

yeah mad good song...
in the video there was a bumper sticker on the kids car said
'proud parents of a D student'
i remember thinking nostalgic thoughts when listening to it
when i was 15, not to mention like 3 weeks ago

i think the error is that weird male vocal tremor everytime
the loop comes around

I thought it was melodic. There's a sample from Doom
somewhere on that album but damn if I could ever find where
it was... it was only a 2 hour and 15 min album though...

offline mappatazee from ¨y¨z¨| (Burkina Faso) on 2003-06-21 16:34 [#00750863]

The DOOM explosion sounds during the "Where Boys Fear to
Tread" (the first track on the blue cd) at 1:20, 1:55,
2:28-29, 3:01, and 3:44. I think they are rocket launcher
explosion noises.

Where in the track is the "audio error"?

Have anyone heard moby?s remixes of the track? (I haven?t -
but it sounds like a bad idea - how could he possibly do
anything good with such an amazing great track?)

offline aneurySm from Ypsilanti (United States) on 2003-06-21 17:39 [#00750935]

Moby can always add slave songs to any track to make deeper.

Something cool with the "1979"-single is that you get 5
extra new tracks as "b-sides". I like that sort of thing,
nothing is more boring when major artists just fills a
single with a "single version" (20 secs shorter than "album
version"), "album version" & "instrumental"...

i remember in the mellon collie booklet they said thanks to
id software but i never was able to find which track they
sampled the explosion in, thanks for the info. I prefer
siamese dream and adore to mellon collie but mellon
collie...is a great album, as is machina too(glass and the
ghost children is one of their best songs for sure).

The 4-track 1979 cd single is great, it includes "Ugly",
"Cherry" and "Believe", I used to play it all the time.

I remember looking at the vinyl... it had 3 discs, one of
which had a new name because the CD version only had two
discs and I think I remember there being at least two extra
tracks

Yeah, that one was totally awesome - Double Cd and all

btw, my 1979 cd-single has got 6 tracks.
