i almost don't even know why i bother posting links to my
music anymore. the lot of you are much better than i could
hope to be years from now. anyways...right. i was watching
my drempels background because i'm a loser and have
nothing better to do with my time...and felt inspired to
make an attempt at another track. it's been awhile, because
i've been severly disheartened after hearing the works of
many of the members of this board as of late.
anyways...there's the track down there. tell me what you're
thinkin'.

I think it sounds like jelly bears trying to saw their way
out of a corrugated cardboard box with plastic toy saws but
the cardboard has gotten wet and then dried out and it's all
funky and fllakes of it are sticking to their sugary bodies
and they hate it but they have to get out before that guy
comes and eats them.

Good shit!

unfortunately my brand new computer is currently out of

can't listen to your tracks.

nice track, would fit nicely with that screensaver. Perhaps
I would've liked it more when the melody were a little more
'in key'. But I guess it's all about the atmosphere.

It's good stuff, clicky and glitchy and micro with a playful
and light fun mood that is usually not produced with that
kind of sonic vocabulary.

The ambient noises and effects fade into the background very
well, makes it sound a lot less muddy than I was expecting
when the song started up, very nicely done.

Sort of hovering in between ambient and something with more
changes... I'm not sure what to classify it as. It conveys
images, which most music doesn't do for me, this is
intriguing.

I'd say it sounds like it's raining gummy televisions into
the ocean, which sort of crackle and fade out in little
unimpressive bursts of noise when they plop into their
watery graves.

I'm going to classify it as "ambient" and make suggestions
on that, what were you going for?

The "melody," or higher frequency line is a little repetive
for my tastes... I'd like to hear some little differences in
the line to make it sound less electronic, more natural.
Maybe the effects, delay, verb, cutoff/res whatever... maybe
even some subtle 1/4 tone pitch changes, that would be
really cool if you did it in the same style.

I'm as honest as possible with my reviews, you probably know
that by now, and I'd definitly say it's a good track. I'd
say the time is very ripe for some broad an undirected
experimentation to delve into things you've never tried
before... maybe a different music style and make it your
own, something like that

offline Sanguine from San Francisco (United States) on 2003-06-20 15:45 [#00749664]

I came into the board about 9 months after really starting
to do electronic, so I'm still fairly young as an electronic
artist, but I had a heavy classical background, and I loved
to listen to all sorts of experimental music. So I guess I
had an idea of what I wanted to sound like... then when I
started I decided that my vision was totally not what I
wanted.

You'll figure it out... if you had no talent or no ear,
you'd be hearing it from your reviewers here I'd imagine,
you're only getting better mate

My "new" style that I'm fooling around with, using my
strengths now, up on the Marsupials thread I started, if you
feel like giving it a listen

Yes!!! You hear the gumminess too? There's something so
gummi going on there!

About the pitch changes - but isn't there already some
BoCish warble there?

I was thinking shift all the notes the melody slowly up off
the harmonies to make it a little more... hmm...
disconcerting?

Then again, I enjoy a little dissonance
