well i finally got it and have to say I really dont like it
but this is probably due to personal preference as i hate
the vocals. Though it seems to remind me of a So Solid Crew
song, not good... i couldn't listen to it to the end, its
like something my "Kevin" mate at college would listen too.

At the moment i'm listening to KPTA1 and am well impressed
with it, better than i thought it would be... still to
listen to KPTA2 yet.

offline horsefactory from 💠 (United Kingdom) on 2003-06-14 09:54 [#00740270]

AlbertoBalsalm those tracklengths are wrong. i ripped
smojphace from vinyl and the 192s are from me, which i
ripped at 33rpm because being noise tracks i didnt know
whether they were 45 or 33, i thought they sounded 'right'
at 33 but obviously i was wrong.

offline horsefactory from 💠 (United Kingdom) on 2003-06-14 09:56 [#00740271]

so now everyone that has downloaded smojphace will have the
two noise tracks at the wrong speed, hehe

pitched toward the end, the last track is just right.

actually i've listened to it a few times now and its not as
bad as at first, the music is excelent... the vocals do
slightly ruin it, not as much as when i first heard it
though.

argh
don't you understand that the vocals are from the original
BUG track? havent you even heard the original? aphex just
did the beats and backing noises, and messed around with the
vocals

Ive just heard the samples but I'm slightly disappointed
because I thought Aphex would do something a little more
original/Aphex-esque with the noise genre. From what I've
heard they just sound like something Merzbow or Russel
Haswell have already done.

i never thought i would but i really like the noise tracks
more than the remix. i don't like this raggae.
i thought those noise tracks would be merzbow-type music but
it's calmer, prettier noise. Not bad at all. Still, it's
noise.

this black cd itself is awesome, same as twoism!

It would be great if his new album had a few noise tracks
along with some other styles. Some of the early stuff he
played at the Bjork concert was really good.

*listens to kpta2 again*

the remix is poor. and combing the sounds of rubbing a
balloon against your leg and recording your modem connecting
to the internet does not constitute music.

the more i listen to it, the more i like it. the remix IS
well wicked, and the noise needs to be downloaded from the
right bpm rip, cuz i'm too lazy to move my turntable to rip
it myself.

but...the noise is great. very interesting to listen to.
definately not as harsh as merzbow or satanstornade, but
pretty noise, like erronous said. i'm glad i got it.

actually the noise does seem to sound right at 33bpm! makes
for a longer ep
