hey, this song is real nice... I still need to buy Hi Scores dammit, but I downloaded a couple of the mp3's, and this one is cool... sounds really 80's like, and the melody is real nice...

I can never remember the names. Is that the up-tempo song? With the hiphop-like beats?

right but this one especially.. it's very techno too. i wish they'd explore this style more, their newer stuff isn't too interesting.

their older stuff does have it's charms doesn't it? I find I'm enjoying it much more then their newer stuff... although, A Beautiful Place... is just amazing, the whole ep I mean...
I find I go back and forth about my opinions about Geogaddi... I think it's real good, but a lot of their older stuff just sounds so much nicer... I hope their new album will be teh awesomeness!!! :)

modus operandi. basically i'm saying their lazy reusage of older material suits them since they're not all that inventive, no matter how much i enjoy most of their music. it's all pretty by-the-numbers after hi scores, IMO. core has to defend them because she knows them and because no one is allowed to criticize boc.

it's good enough for me too when i put it on, but cos it's so plain i rarely ever do put on one of their releases (vs. other artists on warp)

and well, about BoC being formulaic and reusing songs... yes they have used songs over, but if you look at MHTRTC, well yes it's mostly stuff from other albums they had done... but those albums they had done were virtually impossible to get when MHTRTC came out... I assume anyways... and I'm sure BoC had planned to keep it that way... it's really only now that we can really see the reuse of songs... and I'm sure the only reason they re-released Twoism and Hi Scores is because any could get it in mp3 format anyways, so they probably just wanted to get a bit of money from it... so I don't really think that's an issue... all those songs are from their past... and they took the best ones for their full album debut, MHTRTC...
both A Beautiful Place Out in the Country, and Geogaddi have been totally new, and I think quite different from the stuff before it...
hope that made sense!

you're right, twoism and hi scores were limited pressings when they were first released, and lots of artists actually use early singles, ep's, and demo tracks for their debut albums. still, it's a bit frustrating how so much boc material overlaps. $8-10 or a cd with only 3 or 4 exclusive tracks is a bit steep!
geogaddi and presumably beautiful place still used a lot of older material, but wisely they kept it unreleased stuff.. it does sound different from MHTRTC (especially IABPOIC) but just barely.

well I don't know... I personally think MHTRTC and Geogaddi are quite different... same pattern in some respects yes, but still very different... and yes, IABPOIC is more ambient then their other stuff, and is very different itself... I think they've done a lot of different stuff... when I listen to something like Twoism or Hi Scores, I think it's very different from say Geogaddi... but it does still fit as a BoC song... you hear it and you know it's them...
I'm really excited about their new music though... can't wait to hear some!

and yes, I do agree it's a bit dissapointing to see the same songs on numerous releases (although not that much), but you can't really fault them for that I don't think...
and how do you know Geogaddi used older songs?
