Is there any available programs that are up to scatch with the Mac and Windows ones? Being a poor uni student i can't afford Windows, and i don't wanna crack. And infact i don't like using it much, so i probably wouldn't anyway if i had the cash. But is there a way i can learn to compose music and stuff on Linux or any Unixes? Any good sites for this? Anyone here make their music on non-Windows or Mac platforms? ta

There's some good trackers and multitrack recorders and audio editors, but I wasn't impressed with the midi programs.

Then again it's been almost a year since I messed with Midi on Linux... things can develop at a ferocious rate...
