Siberian Rock Music!

Last night I went out and saw THIS group from
Siberia - two of them looked like Asiatic Siberians; both
did throat singing (amazingly beautiful! seeKLF's
'chill out'), and one was on electric guitar (superbly
played!) and the other also playing two-stringed traditional
bowed-instruments. the bassist looked like a saracen, and
the percussionist looked like Rasputin! It was totally
amazing, and the atmosphere was transcendental!

Damn, I should have known that with a Thread Title like
'Siberian Rock Music!', no-one would read it! Probably
thinking either it'll be crap or that I'm making things up
again!

rest of the US.

sometimes i feel like i'm taking advantage of my remote
location.

Ah, yeah, Alaska! I thought you were in the USA, so when you
said you were near Siberia, you had me thinking ;) I would
love to be able to throat sing -- it was amazing to be just
5 feet away from the person doing it.

I've just been through Siberia and in the Buryat area around
icy lake Baikal near Tuva..
Its a beautiful & deeply religious place.

The performers I went to see in Mongolia did some throat
singing and the tones achieved were amazingly resonant- felt
like their soul was going through me.....//

I'm pleased you're enjoying these 'eastern' ways... I've
just had a fix and I'm going back out there for more in a
few months. The nomads of Mongolia are great people to spend
time with. I'd like to visit Nepal sometime too and meet the
Himalayan communities and experience their culture and
wonderful landscape

Dunno about Siberian Rock and Roll, but I got some really
nice Siberian vodka, "Altai" last week. Very pure, smooth
drink with no burn and a subtle taste.
