Yup.. But their new stuff is apperently some ambient experiments. But their previus is black metal, and acoustic guitars with old church like singing... wery exiting, melancholic band...

yeah, damn cool Ulver, I preffer their black metal era over their electronic stuff.
In some of their favorite playlists, i saw the Tri Repetae album, and Matmos and Squarepusher. They seem to be BIG fans of Coil too.
One of the main influences I can hear in your work is that of Aphex Twin. Are you a fan of his work?
I have the utmost respect for Aphex Twin. I listened to Aphex a lot over the last few years, though I don't listen too much to him nowadays. His latest album, Druqks, I only listened to twice. I think Aphex Twin has had his day in my books. Aphex has quite a cheerful vibe, whereas Ulver has a more solemn tone. During the early '90s, I really got into electronic music like Aphex and Ninja Tune Records. Now I listen to stuff like Warped. It's harder electronic music, which is a little more pure in form. I also really like Coil from the UK. They've changed as many times as Ulver has, and they're still pushing themselves even further. Which is cool, because music is a channel to express significant ideas.

Don't know anything of them. I do like Arcturus however, who make similar music.

I've never managed to get into Ulver´s music. But they have this remix album out now where artists live Bogdan, Fennesz, Merzbow and Pita are remixing them.

I have loved Ulver for years.. . #1 band before tortoise.. . their newer stuff is amazing.. . and Id never compare aphex twin to ulver because ulver blows him out of the water.. . true they make very different kinds of electronic music.. . but Id sell every single one of my aphex cds for a new ulver release if I could.. . not that its exactly necessary. ..
the remix album is a little bit of a let down.. . some good some bad.. . fennesz sucks balls.. . his is the shittiest track on the whole album.. . bogdan is fun and merzbow is good.. . but the stars of the lid and the third eye foundation remixes take the cake.. . superb stuff. ..

Theres this album, "a quick fix of melancholy"
I really think a lot of people would like that, if they gave it a chance. Amazing stuff.
