For the first 2 bars I thought it was going to be some
clubby thing, then it fell into a nicely offbeat groove :)

I like the glockenspiel type sound, it sounds nice and
synthetic. I like the hesitant uncertainty of the percussion
in places, then it kicks in with definition. The synth
strings are strong too.

Good ending too. Wel done mate, very good work.

Urm...well........Firstly I'm not going to feed you a load
of shite about how great your track is. This tune made me
want to tear the eye lids off & thrust my face into a
porsion of salty chips covered in vinager, mainly because of
that snare sound which was pretty lame to say the least, you
wouldn't go far wrong if you changed the entire rythm
section. The melody was far to repetative & I became
extremely bored very quickly so a little variation wouldn't
go a miss.

Try not to take any offence for this is just my opinion &
shouldn't be taken personaly. Although if it makes you feel
better you could just say this isn't my bag.

Flippers

well that snare isnt in it anymore as of about an hour ago,
and my mate just recorded about 2 hours worth of jazz guitar
over the top... thanks for being honest tho, its just far
from finished... maybe i posted this track way too early out
of excitement :)

well i see some complaints from folks about the
cowbell/snare

half way thru i thought, well, all it needs its a bit of
pitch bending

then at the end

its bends.. somewhere.. along with the synths

and i got knocked clean off the side of the planet (again)

ahh your too kind johnny :)

note: the jazz guitar parts have been recorded but are not
on the downloadable version as it was made available before
the guitar was recorded... and also ive recorded live piano
on my girlfriends parents grande piano... its becoming a
very bittersweet piece... one im most proud of...

thats for being honest as well, i know it still has its
flaws :)

oh man, this is nice... I'm really impressed... I have to
say, this is maybe the best I've heard of anyone on the
board... now mind you, I haven't listened to that much, but
still, it's quite good so far!

offline The_Funkmaster from St. John's (Canada) on 2003-05-23 23:59 [#00712412]

maybe a bit too repetitive... but it sounds real nice...
very professional sounding... most stuff I've listened to
from people on the board has sounded amatuerish... this
doesn't!

ok just finished! Very very good man... I'm impressed... as
I've said, most stuff I've downloaded here hasn't impressed
me, but that did... only flaws I see is that it's a bit
repetitive, and the drum sounds get a bit tiring after a
bit... other then that it's great!

d/l.

great how it meanders into a groove ... those pizzicato
strings are a nice touch ... maybe the snare is too fuzzy
compared to the other sounds in the arrangements (?), ...
very verynice.

if you're looking for constructive criticism: i'd say: the
rhythm section seems a little out of touch with the rest of
the track in some places - the rhythm seems distracting in
light of the melody, and vice versa.

other than that, a grandé and epic tune

heh.. that snare is long gone actually... and the track is
edited down a couple minutes, and then theres the parts the
jazz guitarist played... really eager to unleash the new
version on you guys... long from finished tho ;) thanks
again guys!

much length that needs to go, but the guitar is down and
