here at school in the u.s. the principal comes on the
intercom and tells everyone to stand for the pledge and then
he says it. recently, some people at my school realized we
didn't have to stand. so, theres 2 people besides me in my
class who do not stand. i'm glad we don't have to stand for
the fucking pledge. are you asked to do something like this
in other places?

of your country and those who have died for YOU, so you
could have your rights ?

it's the fact that its a routine. if i stand i still feel
nothing. i don't get meaning out of standing for the
pledge, so what's the point.

so you're in favour of mindless patriotism, thad? And
mindless loyalty to 'your' president? America was built on
the blood of slaves, don't forget that next time you're
wailing your proud national anthem. I say Fuck National
Pride and Fuck Nationalism.. next time you're proudly
chanting "U.S.A!" think of all the people around the world
damaged by 'your' country throughout its short history.

Remove Pride and replace it with Humility

that's how i feel. i didn't ask to be born in this nation,
and just because i was doesn't mean i'm going to stand
behind it through thick and thin.

i usually dont chant "u.s.a."

i guess i was raised to respect the flag and what it stands
for

that you should stand when the pledge or the national anthem
is sung/spoken, and that the flag should be on the speakers
right side

(i need some help, with my memory, what do the colors stand
for?)
red-
white-honor
blue-pride ?

you may now be seated if you arnt already.

so it was never your choice. people just told you that was
expected. what kind of freedom is that?

here we are -- red stands for the blood of the innocents,
shed by US military might and governmental corruption

white stands for the semen of the white rapists of negro
slaves

blue stands for the tears of a nation hoodwinked and
brainwashed to believe anything it is told.

As usual, there are minority groups who are fighting this
oppression, and to them I give them my mental support (until
I can join them physically to fight).

it has nothing to do with rebellion. some people really
don't agree with things and aren't just trying to make a
scene.

don't cheapen it by tainting it as "rebel without a cause"
stuff thad. It is your democratic DUTY to rebel and protest
against the current administration... America was based on
some very nice principles -- ie Liberty for ALL... yet,
there is no equality by any means; so it is your
Constitutional Duty to become an activist.
