Anyone know anything about them? Apparently so I'm told I
can play them on the pc but they don't seem to load in WMP

Anyone got any ideas?

thats strange. I havent got any problems playing neither
VCDs nor SVCDs on my PC, even using WMP. Theres also an app
called Xing Mpeg encoder that seems to accept almost
anything.

You need a software DVD player installed to play SVCD's
(MPEG2) on your PC. PowerDVD and WinDVD are popular.
