Hello people. I just recently opened up a zebox account,
and I was hoping for some criticims.

www.zebox.com/donutman/

Love the work that's being put out there by you people. It's
great to hear so much creativity and inspiration out there.

Admittedly, my stuff isn't as complex, but hopefully that's
not too much of a turn off.

rollo is really really pretty. really REALLY pretty. i liked
it a lot. the ONLY thing that kinda got to me was that it
seemed to get a bit repetative about two minutes into it. i
dunno. don't listen to me, though. i make el poop-o for
music. heh.

Thankyou ambsace.

It's hard to tell what's going to sound repetative to other
people. This is something I'll start working on.

yes i dig the quality of the synth sounds in rollo. theyre
real gentle and warm.. and the harmony i think is real good.
overall its simple in an effective way.

<- checks the other 2

Actually, I should have said; something that I'll keep in
mind now when writing.

hippo is similar to rollo in the way the harmony and
percussion seem to be modelled around each other.

centibites is a nice piece of techno :D has just gone down
well.. i woke up today thinking.. im going to make some
straight techno tonight.. and youve encouraged me :)

sounds.

By the way, is that you in your avatar?

So any thoughts Xammax.?

I hope the song you were downloading wasn't centebites. I
still like the song, but it was done using Rebirth alone, so
it isn't very new or intelligent.

I decided to replace it with daylight, which was inspired by
the first song on ICBYD by Aphex Twin.

Anyway, thankyou rockenjohnny and ambsace for listening.
You've made me feel much better about my music, and where it
should go.

I actually thought it was rocken who was the night owl.

I'm just winding down from work. I'll be off to bed soon,
after I make a few cathartic rambles and finish my beer.

Since we're not talking about my music, I was inspired to
make my own South Park character, after seeing how good
rockenjohnny's is, but I had trouble making it look like
me.

I went on paint to change a few things, but it still doesn't
look like me. I think I'll go back to the kitten in a little
while.

i just finished listening to the afx j files 20 mins ago,
and "kill joy" was one of the caller in's, that weird i
thought i read something on xlt about him dieing?

I missed it apert from the last 30 minutes. Was it any
good?

The person who just died was kill switch. I'm not aware of
any kill joy myself.

www.zebox.com/donutman.

donut

i just checked out rollo, it's a very good start. i'd add
a bass element, and elaborate a melody over the progression
you have. the perc could use a little tightening up. the
rhythm and alternation between the two keyboard chords is a
little stale. i'd like to check out the other tracks, but
it took a half hour to download this one. keep up the good
work!

Since we're showing our music at the moment, I thought I'd
give this thread a nice little bump.

Check out daylight.

Once again, thankyou for all your replies and criticisms. I
think it's back to the drawing board for me, keeping in mind
what you've all said.

Hopefully I'll bump us this thread again when I've come up
with something new and interesting.
