It comes up a lot as a topic (not vinyl though, MP3) and
everyone agrees it's almost certianly a fake. Dunno about a
record though... I think we would of heard about it if it
really was. You got a link to said item? I suspect it's some
unlabelled vinyl with a little known remix and the seller is
(perhaps unwittingly) calling that remix the aphex twin one?

im pretty sure it is that, you should be able to find the
mp3 somewhere. i've seen the record and its definately from
a 4 track so chances are its that. email the person and ask
him if you want more info.

True but when it first came out it sounded like nothing else
at the time.. and it got all the indie kids interested in
"dance music"

most of it is instrumental, indeed most of it is just drum
sounds. i think its great, only ruined somewhat by its
popularity and people latching onto the obsurd lyrics

dobbin, whats with the reverting to old avatars?

is it all the rage now?

have I missed the boat?

am I deemed to be un-hip now?

hehe, I know man, I totally hate when people just put the
address there and don't link it... especially if it's on two
lines and you can't copy and paste the whole thing in one
shot... :)

no it's repetitive, the drums sound like shit, the lyrics
are stupid. the chords are the only decent thing in the
song, and even they get played out

Just curious - were you around at the time when it first
came out (and old enough to appreciate it..)?

I reckon most people who were the right age will always
remember that tune as something special (maybe in Britain
anyway)

has anyone heard the original "born slippy"? the track that
was on the "trainspotting" soundtrack was originally called
"nuxx," and was the second track on a 3 track single (and
was listed on some records as "born slippy.nuxx"). the
original was totally different, an upbeat breakbeat techno
instrumental, a minor classic imo, but totally overshadowed
when "nuxx" was retitled "born slippy" for the sndtrk and
became a hit.

No I wasn't around at the time, but it shouldn't matter - I
still think the prodigy's experience is one ft he best
albums I own and I enjoy a lot of old stuff that I wasn't
around for - good music should be listenable to at any
time.

Hence I doubt I'd like this song any more if I was around at
the time.

Unless I was on about 4 Es when I heard it, but that's not
saying much coz I like almost anything when I'm Eing.

I bought the Born Slippy original EP on the day of it's
release... I'd been into Underworld since
Dubnobasswithmyheadman and Spikee/Dogman Go Woof EP era. And
I bought the double re-release Born Slippy EPs too :D It's
always said "mega mega"
