Does anyone know when the DVD release date is?

Ive watched both Koyaanisqatsi, and Powaqqatsi, and I have
the soundtracks to Koyaanisqatsi and Naqoyqatsi (having a
hard time finding Powaqqatsi) but Im going mad! I NEED to
see this movie!

I listen to the soundtrack everyday, without fail... and Im
DIEING to see the movie...

:(

Any info?

I saw Naqoyqatsi in theatres it was amazing....I'm afraid to
say though that I don't know the release date, I have the
first 2 on dvd. Naqoyqatsi was good but they used too many
special effects, although it did seem to fit with the theme.

I still want to see "Anima Mundi" I think that's how you
spell it....same creator and Glass orchestration, just
focus' on animals.

What is Koyaanisqatsi about? I'd like to watch it, but I
have no idea what it's about!

Funk: The movies are open to interpretation... but they are
pretty much commentaries on the world.

There is no plot or dialouge... its just beautiful film
shots of nature, and technology.

After I wathced the first 2, I always had a feeling of,
jesus christ, technology is evil.

But anyways, its just these great images against Philip
Glasses music. Breathtaking... (good when high as well!)

But I actually heard the music before ever seeing the films,
and they are amazing on thier own. I seriously listen to at
least one of the CDs a day!

HIGHLY reccomended!

apparently Philip Glass is a good friend of Paul Simon... I
watched a Classic Albums show about Simons Graceland album,
and they interviewed Philip Glass...

I'll have to check that out.. !..

Yeah, he's got quite a volume of work he's done during his
career.

I haven't heard anything from The Hours yet, either, I
wonder how that is..

Funk: Koyannisqatsi is the original, so I suggest you see
that one first (I mean, why not?) The music is orchestral

Powaqqatsi is the second one, and is a mixture of
orchestral, and world music... also amazing

and they both have some choir bits, that are phenomonal.

I saw the hours.

The music made the film, IMO.

Havnt heard it since I saw the movie though...

about I had never rented it... but I will!!

I found Koyaanisqatsi DVD but the a lot of reviews say that
the screen ratio was severly mangled and you cant see the
entire frames, its like watching the movie with 1/4 of the
bottom cut off.

It always was supposed to be a trilogy but lack of funding
was the main reason for the delay on putting out
naqoyqatsi.

Baraka isn't part of the qatsi trilogy. Baraka is directed
by Ron Fricke. He was the cinematographer on the qatsi
movies. Baraka is great though. As the qatsi movies tend to
be dated as they are quite some years old.

General qatsi info

i didn't like naqoykatsi. it looked amateur, and the
computer graphics cheapened it. glass' music was derivative
and boring in this film imo.

the work he did for 'the hours' seems to me to be extremely
similar to some of the music from his opera 'satyagraha'.
from what i've heard on 'songs from the trilogy', at least.
this kind of threw me off, because i felt like i'd heard it
before and so i couldn't quite enjoy it as something new.
loved the movie as a whole, though.

Oh, wow... Philip Glass... master of the understated
overstated! :) Seriously though, he makes the most with the
spare melodic pinches he gets himself into. I also enjoy the
Candyman soundtrack, that melody gets me every time. He
inspired a lot of "trance" ;)
