I got this album a few days ago and have been listening to it nonstop. It has a certain magical quality to it that I dig. Can anyone recommend something that is similar in style and quality to this record? (I already have Young Team and Lift Your Skinny Fists)

Ah... one of the few good things to come out of my hometown. Their two track untitled EP is awesome as well. Good cover art too.
Some Rodan has a similar quality. Maybe a bit of June of '44. A lot of bands bite their style.

Is that the one with the gut shot in the snow? I could get that today if it's worth it.

Yep.
Do you have Tweez? The EP has another version of one of the tracks of that album. I think it's better than the original.
I really like the first song on that CD (untitled ep).

Well, Don Cab is really good... but I wouldn't say they sound anything like Slint.
But anyway, what DC records do you have? I like Don Caballero 2 and What Burns a lot.

what burns american don singles breaking up
they are in the same family... not sounding the same. thats the sad tuth of slint. you get veru little output of theirs before their unfortunate demise. try a band called 'the for carnation'. it is the singer and i think bassist from slint. its as close as you are gonna get to more slint, dude.

tweez is really raw and unpolished but excellent nonetheless.
