You know something I just realized? There is no legal way to voluntarily end one's life ... is there? Suicide is crime and so is murder .. interesting. I guess a voluntary risky act like russian roulette or something might be legal .. and therefore the death would be legal .. or something with lots of insurance forms to fill out .. like climbing up a cliff and hoping you fall .. |

Yeah, word to that. I'm from Oregon. Satan incarnate fumdamentalist John Ashcroft wants to take away our right, which we overwhelmingly voted in -- twice. Basically you have to have a fatal illness and diagnosed to be dead in 6 months. Then you can opt for a physician to prescribe you a lethal dosage of medication, etc. etc. Much better than lying in your own shit and vomit as you lose control of your body and writhe in agonizing pain as you are eaten up by cancer. But some people don't think you should have the right to choose when you go. I think that is sick and selfish, in a bad way. I mean, at least these suffering people are given control over something in such a horrible situation. Opponents of doctor assisted suicide are imposing their religion on other people, when they are not even in their situation! That's all there is to it. |
