i've been looking through the archives, and so far i
haven't found anything in direct relation to my query... so
i apologize if i am repeating someone else or something...
but i was just wondering about Luke Vibert and perhaps some
newer drill'n'bass type stuff from him... and when i ask
this... i don't mean drum'n'bass for papa... i'm looking for
something more cutting edge, more frantic and whatnot... i
ask, because vibert seems to have quite a few releases, and
i know that they are quite varied in style... also because
i've heard songs like 54 Cymru Beats get compared to
Vibert's work, but have never heard a vibert track remotely
close to it... (granted my knowledge of the fellow is
relatively limited)... inform me please!

i thought that vibert was more of a hip-hop guy.
his Wagonchrist album is all instrumental hip-hop/b-boy
stuff.
thats what i thought anyway.

If you haven't got Phat. Lab Nightmare, beg, borrow or steal
a copy NOW! It's one of my top ten of all time...maybe...

The only "totally" frantic (I assume you mean cut-up amen
break) stuff he did was plug 1, 2 & 3 eps. All the
subsequent Plug material had elements of 'madness' but
interspersed around more rolling funky beats.

There are 5 new Plug-esque Vibert eps coming out on Rephlex
under the Amen Andrews name with some pretty frantic (albeit
slightly discoey) ragga-jungle... tracks:

Amental
Amen Renegades
Blomen
Evil Rave
Jungle Bunny
Babylon
Thameslick (sic)

i ordered plug's drum'n'bass for papa yesterday, looking
forward to it. never really had much Vibert stuff.
The first thing I bought was the Homewerk EP which is great
for late night driving!
