ok, ok.
i used to be totally into metal, but i've kinda fell away
from it for about a year.
any new-ish bands i should be checkin' out?
i'm talkin brutal heavy metal though.
a-la Dillinger Escape Plan, System of a Down, Slayer.

i know these bands are all quite different to each
other...but can anyone reccommend anything similar to any of
these three?

Comparable to Slayer: Sodom, older Sepultura (morbid
Visions, Beneath The Remains), Kreator, Morbid Angel (this
is hard, but great nonetheless), Death

For the others I don't really know.

Pantera was wild, damn, that was some power in there. And
with the angry looks/vocals of Phill to make it complete...

A vulgar display of power is such a good record.

The only "metal" group I like is Type O Negative... they are
considered metal, yah? I believe so. Mmm. Love them lots.

Older type o negative is definately metal, just listen to
Slow, Deep and Hard. Afterwards, from Bloody Kisses they
moved on to what they're doing now, maybe less metal, but
just so beautiful.

Maybe you should try to listen to carnivore, Pete Steele's
band before type 'o.

woo, mike patton with dillinger escape plan did a fucking
awesome cover of afx's come to daddy.

sounds... so wierd... but it actually does work.

i'm into a lot of the local metal scene; i'm not a huge fan
of listening to it recorded, but there's nothing better then
metal live. *love* it. you'll always find me up the front
jumping around like a stupid motherfucker.

Not really listening to any brand new acts. Mostly stuff
associated with what I listened to 10 years ago, so
Kyuss/QOTSA/Che/Hermano/Unida/Dessert Sessions/etc, most
Patton affileated acts. Still listening to Kerbdog. *sigh*
