Just bought it....
I'd been listening to a friend's copy that he'd bought when I told him about Aphex...I dunno, but I've always had this weird love for early aphex. It just has this great character.
I have no idea why I didn't just burn it, but it didn't seem right. I felt that I would either buy it or buy it secondhand.
And so i bought it for 16 bucks second hand (Australian, that is).
What do you guys think of it?

LuxExTenebris....thanks!
Laquero....you're just like my friend. He also dislikes it.
BTW, I really love the Australian-ness of it, like the pictures of starfish and boomerangs and such.
It seems like the sort of album that will bring back memories when I hear it when I'm 30....which is double my current age.

SAW 85-92 is the sunny summer album
and Classics is a bit like an orchestra being flushed deeper down the London sewers, their sound getting darker and more hardcore with every meter

Yeah...I like SAW85-92 a lot, and I tend to like playing it when I go to stay at someone's house or if I go on a holiday.
What was your first Aphex item, Lux?

SAW85-92! Not only it was my first Aphex cd, but my first electronic experience as well! I love playing it on bright summer days... Brings up many sweet memories :)
then I bought I Care Because You Do... and that's when my journey in the world of electronic started for real. Look what the thing has done to me! :)

Classics kick my ass all over the place. Much respect to RDJ and his early efforts at some fine work.
It's NOT dull. Exhausting - yes, dull - no.

i like early stuff of artists too.
classics is very nice, although it makes me so depressed.. when i listen to it i feel like they have thrown me to a well or something. dunno why, it's not a really 'serious' album at all. but thats just how i feel.
