How does this release compare to 'FromPassportsto...' ? I
just saw it in HMV on Oxford Street and I'm tempted...
Also bought Astrobotnia 1 - can't wait to get home to play
it! :)

rewired is fuckin wicked .. remix album indeed .. a bit more
"bad ass" than frompassport.. i'd say .. a bit more upbeat
as well in general.

Don't know. I've heard a bit of Metamatics he has worked
with Clatterbox and when Clatterbox is good he is excellent.

They have so much fexin good music there for a flat monthly
rate that I start hyperventilating worrying that a meteor
will wipe out all life on earth before I get to download
everything I want.

Everytime someone mentions some music I check out EMusic to
see if the have some and like half of the time they do
unless it's top 40 pop or classic rock.

Right now I'm workin on collecting all the rare old soul and
funk stuff on the Ubiquity label.

so what's this flat rate you speak of? ... tis rather
impressive that they have all the metamatics stuff there ...
mmm

Well don't be a doofus - check out the terms and sign up for
the 50 free downloads - but beware, the payment terms kick
in if you download 50 + 1 files or let two weeks go by
without canceling, then you're stuck paying for 3 months or
whatever you signed up for. At least that's what it was like
when I joined - check it for yerself -

I'm paying the $15.00 a month deal, month by month instead
of the $10.00 a month for a year as I download so much stuff
it makes me sick I'm not paying even more.

You have to follow hunches, read the messageboards and find
out what other users have discovered, then you find great
new artists. I never would have known about Cuong Vu or the
other great jazz musicians on Omnitone if I hadn't joined
EMusic and checked the messageboards.

I was pleasantly surprised that a huge number of the artists
I'd first downloaded free at Epitonic had full albums
at EMusic. For example, EMusic seems to have the complete
Matador catalog, so they have Pavement, Solex, Mary Timony,
etc. etc.

Oooh something I'll warn you about upfront is you're not in
north america so you might not be able to download some
things because they're distributed on a different label in
your country. For example, Brits can't download the Matador
edition of MHTRTC because it's not licensed to be
distributed in England.

Metamatics is awesome. I have Rewired, Are you an axlotl,
and From (something to something) when you're a paper
aeroplane.

It's all good.

from death to passwords when you're a paper airplane - it's
great stuff.

Strange - I can compare it to so many different artists like
jake mandell, solvent, lowfish, akufen, etc etc but it is
somehow still unique.
