Madonna has reportedly turned down an offer to make pig noises for a proposed Aphex Twin collaboration. Aphex Twin, also known as Richard James, apparently mooted the Queen of Pop should make grunting noises after she phoned him out of the blue at home and suggested they work together. James' record company has confirmed that Madonna has expressed an interest in working with him, but Aphex Twin says he would just get to her to make "stupid noises." "There wasn't going to be any singing on the track. Just grunts, moans and pig impersonations. I really wanted to hear Madonna doing a pig impersonation," James told the Daily Record. According to James, the grunting collaboration nearly happened, but Madonna changed her mind at the last minute, although it's not clear James really expected the star to take up his offer. In a recent interview James told the Guardian he felt Madonna used younger musicians: "Her whole career's been like, 'Oh, they're the trendy person of the moment, I'll work with them to make me younger'." hahaha, i only just read that interview in the wire last night, it says there he wanted her to bark like a dog - but this pig thing is even better :) |
