i'd say i was pretty pleased with last years heap of
electronic music... i made a 2-disc compilation CD for some
of my friends. one disc has the softer stuff, and the other
has the harder stuff... i figured i'd post it to spark
conversation as to what you guys thought was the best from
last year...

Ufo (soft):
Shuttle 358- Finch
Arovane- Driad
Twine- Fine Music
Req- Colours (although, in retrospect, i think this is
actually from 2001)
Ekkehard Ehlers-Plays John Cassavetes #1
Loscil- Le Plongeur
Keith Fullerton Whitman- Track3a(2waynice)
Philip Jeck- Pax
Jan Jelinek & Computer Soup- the New Anthem
Denzel & Huhn- Melight
Tim Hecker- Ghost Writing
Fennesz- Codeine

Kaka (loud):
Super_Collider- Messagesacomin
Autechre- Cap.IV
DJ Shadow- Monosylabik
Venetian Snares- 2 Dollars
Wechsel Garland- Liberation Von History
Astrobotnia(part 2)- Untitled #1
Farben- Live at the Sahara Tahoe, 1973
Squarepusher- Kill Robok
Team Doyobi- Nomen Luni
Daedelus- Soulful of Child
Amon Tobin- Triple Science
Prefuse 73- When Irony Wears Thin
Hrvatski- Anaesthetize Thineself
Venetian Snares- In Quod
Doormouse- Up in the Sky (remix)

conspicuously absent: Boards of Canada( i have no idea what
happened there, i somehow forgot to put it on... rest
assured, Geogaddi was one of the best releases last year...
i was gonna put on Sunshine Recorder, or Music is Math)

Hrvatski - Anaesthetize thineself is fan-f*-tastic.

nice to see astrobotnia#2 in there ... seems like a solid
comp.

true... ultimately, some of the choices weren't exactly
hard... (ie wechsel garland) but i figured i'd stick alll
the upbeat stuff on the "hard side"
