greatest moments on the album: the transition between
"chump" and "longview", and the mood in "F.O.D."

it's wierd ...cuz on the american vwersion (my version) the
back-cover is just a crowd, on the european version theres a
"ernie"-doll flying over the crowd ....hmmm....

Why are they called Green
Day? The phrase GREEN DAY is Bay-area slang for a day with
lots of
green bud where you just sit around taking bong hits,
hanging around. Billie
Joe picked the phrase up from friends while chilling in his
"habitat" (in
the basement of a Berkeley University building), and wrote
the song Green
Day about his first pot experience. The group changed their
name from Sweet
Children to Green Day in 1990. Note too that Ernie from
Sesame Street has
also uttered the phrase Green Day (Ernie also appears on
Dookie... coincidence?).

AHA!

New copies of Dookie are made without Ernie on the back.
That's because Sesame Street threatened to sue Green
Day.

damn you Semame Street!

My fav green day tracks are "Basket Case", "When I come
around", and "Time of your life"...
I know there are more tracks I like but haven't listened to
them for a while.

I hated Green Day.

I was really into Kristin Hersh's solo-album "Hips and
makers" then. so there I was, being INTENSE and MELANCHOLIC
and here come these fake-punk-types. blah!

That cd's amazing, what a classic. Welcome to Paradise and
Longview still get some decent airplay.

this was one of the first cd's I ever bought. I can still
enjoy it now, but damn, does it seem boring. lots of my old
rock records are like that now, though.

Green Day was my first ''favorite band'', and I don't regret
a minute of listening to them. Decent band.

yeah, well-written pops songs. as opposed to the vast
majority of what's on the radio at the moment.
