The line-up for the tenth Barcelona Festival of Advanced
Music and Multimedia Arts, aka Sonar 2003, has been
announced.

Taking place between 12 and 14 of June, highlights of the
night-time festival include Bjork on Friday 13 June and
Underworld on Saturday 14 June, while Mathew Herbert will
present his new big band project at the Auditori de
Barcelona on Thursday 12 June.

Herbert's big band performance will recreate the production
wizard's latest album and features 20 musicians, including
Arto Lindsay, Jamie Lidell and Dani Siciliano.

Other artists on the Sonar by Night roster include Oxide &
Neutrino, Aphex Twin, Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell, Ladytron, TM
Raumschmiere and Metro Area.

The ever-inventive programming will broaden this year to put
on new events at unorthodox venues - Herbert's gig at the
Auditori de Barcelona being the first step in this process.

The day festival will feature the usual five stages - the
SonarVillage, SonarLab, SonarComplex, Sonarama and the Hall
stage
While the night festival features big name acts the day
festival is devoted to discovering new innovations in
electronica, hip-hop, house, indietronica, electro-pop,
electronic jazz, microhouse, electro and digital
concretism.

Guests so far include the excellent Akufen, Tujiko Noriko,
David Grubbs, Jaga Jazzist, Schneider TM and Miss Kittin...
and labels such as Anticon, Jazzland, Mego, Tomlab, Foehn
and Mutek.

Advanced tickets for the event went on sale yesterday,
Tuesday 11 March. Tickets can be bought from www.sonar.es
