What equipment do people use to make music and why? I use
Cubase, Sound forge and a burnt out mc-303 aswell as guitars
and initiative.

cooledit 3.5 & stomper ultra ++

high control & easy to use

drawbacks: takes a long time to make trax and the process is
mostly manual

cubase + analog synths, drumcompu's, multifx, compressors
I like 'playing' real instruments but getting focussed on
doing everything in software more and more.....(like MAX/MSP
or a micromodular if that counts too for that
definition...)

Course you can :)

Bear in mind one PC is an "emergency studio" that only has
floops and reason on and is basically just used when I stay
at my parents and get the music making bug...

Sorry to hear you didn't manage to get your sh-101 fixed in
the end.

Korben:

I manage to spread it around my room so it doesn't look to
crowded. It's all within reach from my PC chair though,
apart from the hi-fi I sometimes use for mastering.

He he, don't worry about not being too good now Bob, you'll
think you're getting nowhere and six months down the line
listen to your old stuff and realise how much you've
improved.

Keep practicing and trying new things and don't be afraid to
try new programs/techniques etc. good luck!
