I just got thru listening to this, and I was a tad
disappointed. It had its highlights, track 7 being one of
them I believe, but to be honest, it sounded a bit crap in
places. :)

Autechre is overrated, i have too much of their releases,
but Confield is very good. (and Amber too...)

it's just that some people need to give it time to
appreciate it methinks. :)

Confield is hard to get into, but once you're into it...

Just give it some time.

And I have every track from draft throught slsk, it sounds
great, can't wait for it to turn up in my mailbox!

Chihiro > i think they're overrated (for lp5 and ep7), but i
still like them!

tracks like 'Vi Scose Poise', 'VLetrmx21' or 'Further',
these are some of the most beautiful electronic tracks i
know... i like their more "abstract" (à la ep7) tracks
less, unless i'm in the very very right mood, but that's a
matter of taste, no?

i'm not pretending to be open-minded (i don't think i could
judge myself fairly enough! ' _ '), but thinking that an
artist is overrated doesn't necessarily mean you're
narrow-minded, does it?

that overrating?

i will agree that some one or two of the tracks on Confield
sound like filler, but there are some true beauties on
there, ive only really started to get into it but i like
what i'm hearing :)

nacmat > i don't know... i prefer Amber, AeP and Confield to
lp5.

maybe i need to give it more time?
but i liked Confield from the first listen (maybe because i
had already listened to more Ae before, including Gantz
Graf... maybe?), and it's been, like, a year now since i
have lp5... i don't think my mind will change much about it
now; i consider lp5 is a good record, with some very nice
tracks (rae, 777, under BOAC...), but in no way a
masterpiece to me.

paul, give it a few more goes.

"eidetic casein" was the one I liked first too. I just can't
stop listening to "parhelic triangle" these days.

yes yes... another "I had difficulties with Confield on my
first listening" post.

Well welcome to the club, because it has happened to. about.
every. person. in. the. history. of. this. mb. ;-D

And every one of them, well a good portion, someday, while
thinking "hey let's try it again, I'm in the mood for it",
discovered not only a masterpiece of an album, but a true
self-discovery.

That's Confield my brother!

I listened to it again. Track 1 was quite nice, tho nothing
to knock me from my chair. I can't remember the rest, I
think I was headbutting iguanas at the time... I'll put it
on after I've finished listening to this jass album.

been said... how about this. ''I like Confield up my butt.
It's that great''.
