Ceri i understand that people posting crap topics can be
shitty, but i think even though a bunch of topics aren't
music related that's what makes this a great place.

There are a lot of friendly posters here and i have learned
a great deal music wise. Most of which i learned from
various posters at this very board (as i no longer frequent
others).

I think non music related posts are interesting because it
gives you some insight into other posters on this board and
gives you an idea of what they are like, giving their avatar
and name a personality.

To say this message board is going to shit is something i
strongly disagree with. I don't mean to upset you with this
topic and i do see how certain individuals have made life
more difficult for you but those recent actions shouldn't
affect your view on the rest of us.

Keep up the good work otherwise, i'll keep my spamming to a
minimum.

I totally agree with you. The only reason there was trouble
this morning is because of some wankers posting deliberately
shitty topics and otherwise fucking around.

Excise these people and the board arrives at a good balance
between music and non-music. There's bound to be an ebb and
flow of emphasis on these areas from time to time,
particularly now when such major world events are taking
place, but over time the good karma ensures balance is
restored :D

Hi, I don't know if you were around this morning, but some
of those topics in no way contributed to the board. I'm not
sure if you're talking about the war ones (why does everyone
think I said "don't mention the war"? I just said keep it to
the existing topics...) or the spam or the blank topics...

did you see all those "secret topics" and other troll shit?
it WASN'T about being music unrelated it was about posting
topics named "........." and topics with no titles and other
shit that made the front page look like shit..

but banning is a wrong way I think, and I wouldn't vote for
Ceri today :\

I'm wondering if shitty topics can be completely removed, as
opposed to just closed?

Yes, they can be removed... They tend to be kept as evidence
until the webmasters get here though...

It's great when I'm here - I can't comment on when I'm not
here, because I would have to be here to comment on how it
was when I wasn't here, and logic doesn't allow that kind of
craziness.

Only trouble with that is that they sit on the front page
looking shit until a webmaster does actually look at them.
More often than not it takes new topics being posted to push
them off the board.

Perhaps it would make more sense to introduce a facility
where the moderators could hide a topic, then the webmasters
could review it and decide whether or not to delete it or
open it up again.

unlike some boards I could mention.

threads shoold be closed but not removed totally, that woold
be too far......

whenever i get here i always look at closed threads first, 1
coz they are usually interesting and 2 coz they wont be
bumped to the top later

no, dont DELETE the closed topics..... they're interesting
reads. If there's a closed topic ppl who dont like them
should just not click on them.

who cares if it looks "bad"... that's just stupid to delete
them for that reason

I think the moment the moderators start deciding that
anything other than music is to be discussed here, that will
be the end of this place.

some of the worst spammers here (on the MB) seems to be a
little undecisive about where they actually stand; "yeah, i
totally agree bla. bla. bla., the level of spamming must be
kept to a minimum", but then they forget all that and post
shit again.
